Okay.. finally I have put some images on the web...

Here they are;

Wardofsky,

there is almost a complete pastel color palette in the leaves--very subtle and I'm sure was difficult to expose correctly to capture it. That is not only pleasant to see but also worth saving to be able to harvest colors with the eyedropper tool!

It looks like Aerospatiael helicopters has made it everywhere. I know they have a big Australian/Antartic division. Do you look up every time you hear something flying? I do about 100% of the time.

Okay, buoyed by some thankfully positive comments, I'm going to post something else.

About four weeks ago, Floriduh was holding district wrestling championships all over the state. I've been traveling with the Oviedo H.S. team (black and orange), who eventually one the 3A state title.

Mind you, this is from the older digital camera which didn't have the sharpness but was perfectly adequate for being 4 years old.

i did some concepts for a wrestling website a while ago... though i find wrestling a bit weird. i had to try not to give it that 'homo-erotic' feel. the guy on guy action positions are hard to design with. if it doesn't look angry or it just looks gay; or maybe it's just me. ?

what kind of camera? my trusty 505v is still holding up great!

peace.

I have avoided shooting certain moves. I believe that the wrestler's dignity comes first. Until that shot, the wrestler in the gold singlet had never seen a photo of himself where his butt wasn't the predominant image. Too many of the photographers I've seen know how to shoot well, but they don't know wrestling at all and it leads to some unfortunate and embarrassing shots that the wrestlers don't want to remember.

My old digital was an Olympus C-2500L, 2.5 MP, 3x zoom for $1800 although I got it at Best Buy in 2000 (imagine that!) for an open box price of $850 nine months after its release. My new camera is an Olympus E-1, which was $1800 for the body only.

I shot most of those with my Sigma 50mm. I'm extremely pleased with that lens. :D

Wow I'm sorry I didn't see this Forum earlier. I wish I had more of my good stuff scanned in but I only just recently got my Umax Powerlook III scanner. Most of my stuff I shoot with a Bronica 2 1/4 kit c. 1975 and my really intense black and white stuff I reserve for my 4 x 5 field camera. These first 2 I shot with the comapny's Olympus Digital (2.1 mp) so I could mark the spot and return to shot it properly. The 3rd shot is one I took in Yosemite in 1980. Enjoy
I'll be chcking these out more from now on. Great stuff!! guys (and gals)

Lovely. 220 film? The tonal variation is so expressive. The shed and tree almost make me want to write about the U.S.A.'s move from from an agricultural society to an industrial one.

Sparky's--keep that new scanner working and post some more photos. They are really nice.

Capt Underpants you must be a lucky dude to catch such a spectacular fireworks picture from a diving board. That would make a good avatar, too.

looks like a nice lens. the 50 on the 10D here at work is cheap, but it's ok... small focus ring. the new tamron is dope.

Yeah, it's pretty nice. It runs neck to neck with the Nikkor 60mm f2.8 easily. :D

can't remember what camera you're shooting with... what's the lens factor on that thing? the 10D is something like 1.6

I left Savannah on Saturday, headed for southern California. On the flight over we decided to stop near flagstaff for lunch and take some aerial photos of the barringer crater. This was one of my better... though it has been color corrected in photoshop.

As I type this I'm sitting in a hotel in Riverside... not a bad town. I saw a drunk guy fall of a sidewalk yesterday in San Bernardino... :)

It's 1.5x, which can pose problems at times, but isn't too bad. I'm hoping, that whenever chips & dslr systems are finally evened out to their 35mm counterparts, that I'll have made the right decisions in my lens choices. My next purchase is going to be a Sigma 12-24mm super wide. :D

Does anyone think that this could be better balanced? I think that all the green certainly highlights the flower's colour but it doesn't feel quite right.

Nice photo of that crater and an interesting web site about it. West of El Paso there is a large sink hole called Kilburn Hole, formed from collapse of a gas bubble. It's not quite as large as Barringer. Years ago cattle rustlers would drive cattle down into it, disappearing from sight until it was safe to come out. Now it's a great place for rattlesnakes. Check it out on your way back--it's right under the airway west of ELP.

The color looks natural to me. I'd vote for cropping rather than color balancing, if anything.

Thanks for looking at it. Something just felt wrong and I couldn't decide.

Thanks also for your comment on the birds photo. They were much more interesting to shoot.

yeah, isn't that fun... i'm glad i have this DSLR at work; i couldn't spend that much on one let alone lenses for the damn thing. this weekend i'll be shooting some family portraits with it; i hope the weather's nice. :( i don't really feel like studio shooting.

here's a Brazilian mask a friend of mine brought back from his painting group with Alex Grey:

it's made of piranha teeth, shark ribs, scales, nut shells, and tree rubber. :D
