those are wonderful shots idkew...

seriously beautiful work...

::grumbles::stupid highlight, stupid no undo typing in edit menu...
I concur! I especially like the one of the drops hitting the wood and leaving circles....so you guys just got your first storm? Ha! we just finished a week of storms...it still pretty overcatse during the day, I'll post shots of it tomorrow...tonight the only holes in the sky looked like aerial views of a hurricane! It was clear enough the other day for us to see Jupiter and it's moons through my friend's dad's telescope....funny thing that other day....we dressed a Jedi for our friend's birthday and took him horseback riding and I lost my damn glasses...and I likd them too!...anyway I accidently gave away that we were going to a casino later in the night by saying maybe I'll win my money back for the glasses....sure enough after loosing about 18 dollars in the slots I got 900 credits @ 25cents per credit = $225.....so I was pretty happy! I so almost didn't keep playing after I had $4.93 left of a twenty....my original limit was $10 but the night was young, it was the only bill I had, I figured I'd only be there once in a long while, and I didn't want to be bored sitting around doing nothing so we tried random machines...the light on my winning machine was flashing and a bell was ringing and I was shaking the hell out of my friend! I didn't even notice 900 credits, I just kept watching the money go up and up and up! I thought it's stop at like 30 or 50...boy was I wrong! I had my camera in my pocket and didn't think to take a picture of the event but I have a picture of the machine which I'll also try to post tomorrow...got to think if I had only bet the max :) (it was 1.25 already...well 25cents with a minum bet of 5 credits...)

here's my winning slot machine, and the storm (well cloud cover and threat of storm), yay, even though we get thumbnail view :( we get to UL multiple images :) which means we won't clog the forums with multiple posts to just UL images!

Edit: ewww....the slot shot looks blocky for some reason...it really isn't...well not before compression anyway

It's a local based magazine called New Orleans CityLife. It's being published by the big business publication, New Orleans City Business. It's basically a business & lifestyle magazine that's quickly becoming a pretty big hit here. :D

Congratulations eyelikeart, did you frame your first byline?

Moxiemike, thank you for your pictures. I appreciate your inclusion of the American Flag. The diner picture is interesting, a sign of past times.

how is the mag printed? can you get a plate of your shot?

It's offset, but I'm not sure of the entire process. The quality is there with most major publications, take Esquire for an example. ;)

As for a plate, I dunno. That would be cool though. :D

Nice shot man. They gave you a good layout, too. It is ALL about your shot.

Thanks man. I got a few compliments from the people at the magazine too, including the editor & writer for the story. :)

10D

just got a Tamaron lens for the 10D here at work... 28-75mm F2.8 macro.

very tight compared to the cheap canon lenses. it's very hefty with a huge focus ring... more like a focus band. haven't downloaded any pics yet, but i'll be sure to check 'em out soon. :D

downtown
the gryphon tea room

Well, I'm down at Sea ISland, Georgia this week doing some work, but yesterday I got a chance to go up to Savannah and visit the Gryphon Tea Room with a friend. Here's a few shots.

By the way, if you ever get the chance, go have tea there.. its one of my favorite places in the world.
