What a poisonous photo for people who are on diet haha
Alright, I picked up the lens and a case that has the 17 mm threads. Overall I think it takes good photos on my 15 pro max. What I've noticed is that around the external edges of the photos the pictures are blurry in some spots. An External 2x lens attached to my iPhone greatly improved & reduces odd looking artifacts seen in night mode blending when imaging the Milky Way.

The brand is Neewer. It’s a budget 60mm / 2x lens for the iPhone $69. I’m using it on my Beastcage by BeastGrip with the 17mm thread plate. There are several different options available. There’s Moment, BeastGrip, Sandmarc, Reeflex, & Shiftcam. The lens comes with a clip on attachment, I don’t recommend using it. It’s difficult to align perfectly over the camera of the iPhone.
Get a BeastCage or a dedicated case with 17mm threads for the lens from either Sandmarc or Reeflex. The other brands have proprietary cases for their lenses and only their lenses can be used on the case. The Beastcage has three different plates to accommodate their own 1.7x telephoto along with 17mm lens mounts, & a plate for Moment T-series lenses.
If you go with Neewer, it’s a good option and is built very well. The optics are multi coated and my copy is very sharp. However I had a bad copy when my first one arrived. I ordered a replacement via Amazon & purchased a send one. Two were delivered Saturday, the replacement was much worse. Bad flaw in the center. The third is nearly perfect!! Super sharp and clean. It’s on par with the other brands.
It’s definitely helpful when shooting the Milky Way because the 24mm 1x camera is too wide and causes the odd artifacts as the images during night mode are blended. Increased magnification is always best for better resolution.

Yeah, I can help you with that I think. The blurriness in the extreme corners is probably gonna be normal because some of the real expensive ones. I have do the same thing. Some worse than others. You can also touch the 1X camera and move in into 28mm or 35mm and crop more of the edges out for 35mp and 24mp files.Alright, I picked up the lens and a case that has the 17 mm threads. Any insight?
THAT is your view from an APARTMENT? Good lord, I'm jealous!5x 16PM.
I love the view from my apartment.
this insight helps out a lot. I'm going to tinker with things and see how it plays out. I only notice it in the post shot, never in when I am looking to take the photograph.Yeah, I can help you with that I think. I initially ordered one of these 60 mm lenses and decided to get another just a test quality and consistency with the quality. One of them came in horribly bad in the center and it was returned and replaced with the same item. The other one that came in was blurry on the left side And I thought, you have to be kidding me. So I did a little bit of experimentation because I’m using the lenses on my phone with the beastgrip beastcage, which allows for a precise alignment for any lenses attached. I unscrewed the lens probably one full turn, and the optics were incredibly clear on both sides and around the edges after doing so. I Screwed it back down all way again, and it got blurry on that left side. So, I think that that lens was threaded in too far and the 1X primary camera lens picked up too much of the edge of the lens. using the cardboard from one of my cases that I got in the mail, it’s thin I made a circular template to go on the back of that lens as a spacer, which provided enough to keep that lens really sharp. making this spacer really helped with both lenses keeping them sharp.
Yes I know it’s a inexpensive lens compared to BeastGrip or moment or reflex or Sandmarc etc, but overall it’s a very sharp lens and I am really pleased with the two that I have. The reason I have two of them is because I have two iPhones that I take pictures with so I decided to get two of them. I have a drafting template with circles on it and matched with the diameter of the back of the lens & threads. I attached a photo of the thin cardboard or the box that the case came in. You’ll just have to unscrew the lens from your case to see how far out you need to go before it gets sharp across the edges. If this does not work, it could be possible that the lens is defective, but hopefully not it could be the case is not perfectly centered over your camera. All of these have to be precisely in the middle of the camera in order to provide sharp details in the center and edges. There’s very little tolerance for whatever reason. but like I said in the extreme edges or corners of your photo, some distortion will be present. That even happens with moments new T series 58 mm lens. anyway, let me know if my advice has helped.
