Yeah, theres some breweries that get it right, and others that just make them too boozy.

Yeah, some just taste 'dirty', and way too woody. Some taste sweet which is hard to explain. Some seem overpowered by the wood and remnant liquor. *shrug* But I've had some really outstanding ones too. I'm still on the hunt. Drink on!

Hop Raider IPA. It has a rather complex flavor for a hoppy concoction. If you can find it, give it a try.

On their website, they mention they use stone fruit in it. That has to be a big part of the flavor.

Screen Shot 2022-10-18 at 7.52.40 PM.png

ABV: 8.1 - IBU: 43 - Hops: Chinook, Citra, Galaxy, Nelson Sauvin, Pahto, and Sabro - Malt: Pale, Caramel, and Honey

EDIT: Part of the reason I commented that stone fruit is playing a large role in the flavor is because I bought some glass jarred coffee (Super Coffee?) that stone fruit was used as an additive and major flavor. That coffee tasted like it was filtered through a 20 year old pair of running shoes. BLEECH!!! But the caffeine did help. I could drink a heck of a lot less of it than I would of a more restrained coffee, but the stone fruit flavor was, well, nasty. (To me) But the slight stone fruit flavor in this oat soda actually plays well with the sweet and bitter flavors of the hops used. *shrug* I have just been thinking of my experience with stone fruit.

I’m not a beer person but sweet tea is the awesome sauce.

I've had sweet tea that I can feel the cavities developing when I drank it, but people gotta look out for some of those fruity IPAs. They make an angel food cake look like a dog biscuit. Some are incredibly really way too sweat, but the hops is why I drink them. Just realize they are diet killers. Moderation...

Like Hop Raider. Sweet...

I assume this is a takeoff of Ideocracy: 'Brawndo, the thirst mutilator!' (Crazy movie, and so timely for the past who knows how many years. (Ever since I hit puberty?))

But Brawndo has electrolytes!

The Thirst Mutilator is hard to come by here, but I bought it on a lark. It's pretty citrus and lime, not much hops, sadly...

(Non-alcoholic)

It’s my class ring from Bitburg American high school. My little brother and I send each other pictures of our beers. I wasn’t sure he’d ever seen my class ring since we’re six years apart.
Man I miss Germany; born and raised in Stuttgart. We moved to the states before I entered high school. I went to Stuttgart Elementary/Junior High on Robinson Barracks. I think my oldest brother went to the high school on Patch Barracks

My dad was stationed in Giesen for a few years, so the fam spent some time there, but I was way to young to be able to remember any of it, sadly. The parental units loved to talk about my experiences in Germany. I loved beer (still do). I was frustrated because the light switches were what seemed like half way up the wall. I had friends from all over the area, and had learned much of their languages to talk and play. We had a GSD, and a Volkswagen, and hung out at the beer halls. They used to talk about it all with such emotion and fond feelings. I wondered why they didn't move back when he retired. The only memories of the whole thing are being on a plane and losing most of my small cars in the seats somehow. I sure wish I could remember more of that. The human mind is amazing, and sometimes it's just a deep hole. Freudian? Who knows. They were pretty abusive as human beings.

But they especially loved telling about how when I got 'stateside', I played with every light switch I could because I could finally reach the damn things. :D:D:D Playing with switches hasn't gone away either. HAH!

And still like beer... Some things change, and...
