Sea Fury special ale. A bit fruity but not too much. Quite tasty.
Sitting at the Sloop Inn in St. Ives. A pub that's been here since about 1312,
Enjoy.
That looks absolutely amazing.
And I love those old pubs, pubs positively redolent with history, laden with tradition and atmosphere, complete wooden beams, crooked floors, and extraordinary fireplaces (sometimes, they are even better in winter).
that I fear is on it's last legs after being sold to a "American consortium"...
Perish the thought.
Roman, the oldest family brewery in Belgium…..year 1545
Wow.
Gorgeous glass, and that beer also looks wonderful.
A very refreshing lager in hot weather here in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. After more than a week in St. Ives in Cornwall with rather cool weather- for Summer - we're now sweating away here further North East and inland... 🥵🥵🥵🍺🍺🍺
PS! The pub we're at now - Ye Olde Black Bear - is even older than the one in St. Ives. It was started in 1308!

Went to the Achelse Kluis abbey again today, finally picked up the proper glass!
Took a long evening walk through the forest and farmland while waiting for them to get cold enough and at 28c outdoors, an ice cold Tripel like this one definitely makes a good ending to my my hike!
Wow; what a gorgeous glass.
I have the actual glassware from Trappistes Rochefort, Westmalle, St Bernardus, Chimay, and Brasserie d'Achoufe, (and use it when quaffing or imbibing a beer) but have never laid eyes on this particular glass.

Back at Ye Olde Black Bear in Tewkesbury today, and got a Black Bear Bitter. Very tasty. A bit hazardous to carry it to the table, though, the floor in this place is far from even... 🤪
Yes, one of the perennial hazards of aged pubs is that of crooked stone-flagged floors (as the buildings themselves all too often list and lean with age); it is all too easy to trip (been there, done that) thus, lamentably, spilling one's beer en route to one's table.
