Have just opened a bottle of CBS (Canadian Breakfast Stout).

Having sampled (and savoured) both it - and KBS - last night, - a sort of compare and contrast of two flagship beers brewed by Founders, I can state, that while both are absolutely brilliant, the CBS is superlative.

Geez, where have I been lately? Some very nice beers posted lately. I live about 20 minutes away from the Delirium Cafe in Leesburg, VA. Love that place. Heres a sample of ehat I have been drinking the past week or so

Wonderful shot - very reminiscent of Germany and/or Austria.

I have sat on terraces in those countries sipping beer; memories, memories.

Re the CBS, from Founders, this year, the label is different from other years.

In earlier years, previous editions of CBS the label had featured a Mountie (a member of the federal Canadian police force, the RCMP) in their stunning ceremonial uniform, the uniform with red serge, a stetson hat, navy breeches with a yellow cavalry stripe, and oxblood riding boots on horseback. Apparently, the Mounties were not especially happy to be used to advertise a beverage.

Thus, this year, the horse is depicted saddled and bridled, prancing and rearing, but minus a rider.

Belgian beers tonight: Have just opened a bottle of Houblon Chouffe, from the Brasserie d'Achouffe, and poured the contents into a Belgian beer glass (or chalice, or goblet)..

This beer is a sort of India Pale Ale style beer, actually, a classic Belgian Tripel, and is quite balanced and lovely. Not too hoppy.

Do check out the label, Brasserie d'Achouffe produces gorgeous labels.

What a wonderful label, although I am quite sure that this splendid beverage has featured on these pages earlier in the thread.

Does the quality of the beer match the exquisite standard of the label?

Is this the brewery that produces the Pliny beers?

Do enjoy.
It is a fantastic West Coast IPA. Yes, it is by Russian River Brewing that does indeed put out Pliny The Elder!
