*Whistles* Nice wheelset. Needs a more aero frameset to match though! :D Doesn't the finish rub off the rim surface?

^ maybe one day Ill get a Tarmac frame. - I actually would like to sell he rear wheel and get a matching 404.

When you ask about the finish you are referring to the the finish of the zips?

Yeah, the braking surface; is it anodized, does it have a wear line, does the finish come off? etc.

And I was thinking a Transition or something like that. Wheels that aero you should be riding time trials! :D

Yeah maybe one day I will get a TT frame. You comment is the same reason I want to get a rear 404. I do not need all the aero for the road. Although I will say these wheels are very very fast. My wheels are not clinchers, they are tubulars (I wanted to save as much weight as possible considering my frame). So being tubular your break pads squeeze on the carbon. There is a small portion of the edge that does not have any gloss on it. So the pads just rub on that. Unlike clinchers which have the metal lip. Im not sure as far a wear indicator but I will send Zipp and e-mail. I am now curious. But at one point I was told that while everything wears, these wheels will last thousand of miles if I use the propers pads (carbon specific) and such.

People always ask me if they are worth the money, and I tell them that I don't know, but I like how fast they are.

my ride

So I posted my bike earlier today in the New Purchases thread but then I found a new home here in the bike section... but first some back story.

My 2008 Wilier Cento recently cracked... I took it into my local bike shop and Wilier not only offered to replace my frame immediately, they also allowed me to upgrade to this Superleggera frame for a small fee... The Di2 and wheels are from my previous build. Only thing different on my bike now is the saddle.. switched to a Fizik Aliante carbon rail.

nice bike, now those are some expensive wheels!!!
how do you like the Di2? is it as quick as your conventional shifters? - I was going to go that route but w my luck i would run out of battery at some point. My next upgrade is to get matching SRAM Red shifters (matching to my crank)

There are some really nice bikes around here. I love looking at all of them.

Here's mine. 2005 Trek Fuel EX7. I love every part of this bike except for having to bleed the Hayes 9 brake lines. Haven't ridden it much the past couple years but I've put quite a few miles on it. I recently went over it and replaced a ton of parts.

PS- I took this at midnight with my 3GS. Gotta love Alaskan summers.

The rear wheel is at the LBS getting re-laced. Its getting close! The bars came with white tape. I'll buy black tape once everything is finished unless the white grows on me.

And yes, that is my failed 500gb LaCie.

Hehe, I of course do not keep my bike like this. The drive just happened to be the right size for the photo. It is now resting softly against the wall ;)

I think you misunderstand. I tap my foot in impatience. It's summer, for god's sake. You should've already clocked in hundreds of miles. Instead, your bike sits woefully far from completion, STILL. Cheap parts are abound! A bike can be assembled in an hour or two! Get to it!

Derek F: I own the '07 version of this bike. Its my commuter/utility ride. Great bike

Thanks for the reply. I was mistaken when I made the post, it's not a hybrid, per se. It's essentially a road bike without the drop handlebars, that's how it was described to me at a local bike shop over the weekend. Road a couple of the varying models in the series, very smooth ride, quick acceleration, and incredibly fun.

Too... many... nice bikes...

Anyways, I just got a free bike I could use to go to school (and get stolen). I'm currently repairing it, I'll post pics when it's done.

It won't have been very expensive though... One can of WD40, one can of black paint, one pack of steel wool

Yes, lol. This is my not so cheap part bike. The biggest part of the wait is because I am building a separate single speed bike for my girlfriend. I have been putting mine on hold many times. But, now that most of my ordered parts are in, it will be done very soon! Keep checking in!
