Yeah, I do miss the sound of the VR6. I had the old 2.8L one in my last car. But, the trade-off has been worth it. The new 2.0T FSI motor is more powerful and much better on gas. Mods are also a lot more cost-effective because the car's already a turbo.
I have fallen in love with the new DSG transmission. My last two VWs were manuals and this is the first "automatic" I've driven that I'm actually satisfied with. And my knees get a break.

I test drove the DSG GTI. It was fun, but I'm glad I ended up buying the manual.As for the DSG, I'm a die-hard manual guy, as well, but I think I'd love the DSG. Hope to test drive one sometime.
