Ah yeah, that's the "SVT Raptor" a consumer-friendly version of their baja truck. I'm a great car guy - whatever the brand, lol. I had a Dodge before this. :) At the time I bought the Lightning I did it because it was the most "unique" sports "car/truck" that was available at the time...Dodge only had the R/T's, no SRT stuff yet in 2000. It was my birthday present to myself after recovering from a car accident (I was hit by a drunk driver, totaled my dodge).

Yeah, that's it. Nice looking truck. I'd like to trade mine in for the quad cab SRT-10. Yum yum yum.

Nice, yeah, my buddies RX-7 demolishes me, but he's got a HKS single turbo conversion with a street ported engine plus tons of other stuff. Last dyno he was 487rwhp. He's had it up over 180 on the track. This is just after his body kit install but before the new rims came...

That is one hell of an ugly car.

EDIT: Well, not so much the car. More the horrendous body kit.

Eh, I just have a horrible pic of it, though to each his own. It's more for function then form, being a carbon fiber Super-GT RE Amemiya widebody kit to keep the car on the ground at 200mph while being light. Looking the prettiest doesn't do much good if you lose down force, get lift and crash. The RE Amemiya GT kit is widely considered one of the best in the FD3S world.

Here's another RX7 with it in shots that are better then mine:

But those wheels have a proper offset ;). That's why the previous red RX-7 one looks "funky".

I dislike"hate" when people go widebody on their cars and keep their stock rims. Get some wider tires or different offset rims :p.

Well I guess if you're going to be driving at 200mph regularly it's worth sacrificing looks :p

I've yet to see a bodykit like that that makes a car look better (IMO of course). And for me, looks are far more important than whether or not a car is stable at speeds of 160mph+. You don't need any fancy wings to be stable at anything up to that speed really.

Wow, you guys are a tough crowd.

That photo was from the day he got it back from the shop. He has proper rims now, I just don't have a photo of them. :) (Just before I pic I said - "This is just after his body kit install but before the new rims came...")

SMWatson - the car was rebuilt for racing. :)

Where do you race it? I guess it's still road legal though...

LOL, I was about to comment on when he was getting some wheels, but then I read that he is getting the wheels for it. Although I dislike Amemiya's bodykits, I still respect that old man and everything else he has done. :)

Nice to see some rotary brethren around. And always nice meet some real speed heads, too. :D

We should get someone to separate this thread into two.
1) Speed guys- Post your vehicle pics
2) Average People - post your vehicle pics
Or is it wicked of me to segregate vehicle peeps like that. :D

Just going through 5 pages, I've seen some real nice stuff here. Your Lightning, an S14, your buddy's FD, some other guy's 80s 911. Maybe someday I'll get a chance to go through the rest of the thread.

You're right that one is pretty nice ( don't like ricers ) but that one I do, the red one seems like the body kit wasn't put on very well

510 hp is nice but I can't get the built in iPod integration working properly yet - and Jaguar say you are supposed to disconnect it when you leave the car which is not great. I have a dedicated iPod classic for use in the car. With previous cars, I would only ever disconnect it to sync with iTunes occasionally - and not even touch it in the meantime since it's hidden away. More experimentation needed

^^ my god thats pretty wowzers!

you would think that they would get the iPod thing working right

what do you do!? that car isnt exactly cheap lol
Thanks. I'm a software developer - not Mac though, boring multiplatform business stuff with a Windows client. I drove much cheaper and older fast cars for years while concentrating on paying off the house loan as soon as possible - best advice I could offer anyone I reckon. Had a few good toys since having zero housing cost a few years ago :)
