How much did you spend on the paint job? Did you choose the same original factory color? How is the new paint holding up? My experiences tell me repaint is not as sturdy as the original factory paint (as it does through the machine painting).
I went with the same factory color and 6 months later it looks as good as when it was first done. Hopefully it'll last, all I can do it take care of it best I can. It's a daily driver so I know it won't stay perfect.

The repaint cost about $8000 including a new windshield and some rubber bits and took almost 5 weeks to complete. Bunches of pictures of the process here.

1990 Camaro, 5.0L V8

Summer toy, 2nd owner, had it almost 11 years now, since I was 15. First car. Due for collector plates now that it's 20 years old so I can legally get away with no front plate (7 years with no front plate and finally got busted two weeks before leaving the country).

These pics were taken the very last night I had it out before I put it in storage.

Been in storage almost two years now while I've been out of the country, and damn do I miss it.

It is pretty fast. it is superfast for a truck. with my Dynolicious app on my iPhone 3GS it does 0-60 in under 6 seconds. Just over 5 seconds in 4WD.

5 seconds? A 3 ton truck like that?

A current generation Audi S4 takes 5.1s from 0 to 60. Would be nice to blow away that thing with a truck like yours. :D (although I do prefer the S4, cause you can't beat german cars :p)

Could you provide a little more information about your ride?

Best body style since the 60's. I wish GM would bring back these styles. Great car man, and I haven't seen one as nice as yours in a while.

The 5.7 V8 sure is a monster engine. Though I think you missed my sarcasm there with the unintended making fun of Toyota's meltdown. :)

Sure you can. It's called the Corvette and CTS-V. :D

I like the Corvette and CTS-V. I have watched them complete in race series (ALMS and Speed WC GT) & have been a fan of Corvette Racing and Cadillac Racing & their drivers (Johnny O'Connell, Ron Fellows, Andy Pilgrim, et al), but I would still take a BMW M3 over a Z06 or a CTS-V any day of the week. :)

Why? Image/perception? Just curious. :)

Because the M3 is an awesome car. Fast, well balanced, excellent handling, outstanding fit and finish. It's great, practical, and fun as a daily driver, and it's equally good also doing duty as a touring car for road trips or as a high performance car for tracking events. It's the benchmark in its class.

I had a 2005 M3 and I still miss it.

The Corvette is not very practical, and both 'Vette and CTS just don't have the build quality and fit & finish of an M3. Although I like them, they would not be on my shopping list.

When I was young I thought cars were fun and exciting and worth the time & money it took to have a nice one.

Then I grew up a little, and realized how naive I was, that they're all money pits, terrible investments, and overall fairly expensive entrapments.

So I figured, that in mind, might as well drive something that makes ya happy.

Thanks, I really love it too. The color always turns heads since it's subtle yet not so subtle...unfortunately it's hard to see clean ones around, as the third-gen Camaros like this suffered much the same fate as most of the 5.0L Mustangs of the era--being ragged on, HARD.

I *really* want to put some 17 inch polished aftermarket iroc wheels on it.

Same car as last year.

Holy smokes!!! So freaking sexy!!!! I always say to myself that if I ever make enough money or if I even win the lottery (Yes, I know, don't count on it) I would buy a Honda NSX-R in championship white. I still love my Prelude though :)

All true Land Rover fans know that the Freelander is a joke. It was powered by a horribly made old MG/Rover engine that was used in the Freelander & Kia Sedona (where it was crap in both cars). If you want an offroader then you can not have a MB or BMW. If you want a true luxury offroader you have no choice but to get an LR3/LR4 or Range Rover.

Agreed. The Freelander is a joke of the auto industry. I actually drive a 98 Discovery LSE in british racing green (will post pics when I wash her). I have to say, I have no major issues. I still take my car to the dealer but maintenance isn't that expensive. The key on these cars is preventative. We're the first owners of the vehicle... it was handed down to me as my first car a few years ago. Gas mileage (plus premium gas) is wretched but I've never had a mechanical failure or any major problem. Pretty good car... minor nuisance here and there. $2k/yr in preventative maintenance will keep you safe other then for the head gaskets! I'm actually thinking of upgrading to a 2002 p38 Range Rover. I think the problem with Land Rovers in general is that their low resale value on the used market is deceiving. These are expensive cars to maintain and if you don't have the means to maintain them, you shouldn't buy one. Seriously. My car MSRPd at $48k back in 98. Just because the car is worth $6k on a good day now doesn't change the fact that it still requires maintenance consistent with a $48k car. I hate when people complain about "maintenance costs" on used luxury vehicles... no duh, seriously. They cater to a buyer with some purchasing power.

Great car! I'm a massive fan of Spiders; the 80s-early 90s are among my favourites. I'm looking into buying my absolute favourite generation (late 90s-mid 00s) for just about the same reasons you mentioned :D .
