It's a long one, so get comfy
Somewhere last year, I bought a Studio Display for $50, and pretty much kept it sitting around. A while later, i bought a Canon rebel for $35, and didnt use it too much.
This year, I bought a dead iMac G5 for the aforementioned $20, and decided to sell it rather than fix it (bad capacitors, btw). I let it go for $90. Shortly before, I traded the monitor for a 500MHz iBook, and then traded that for a GPS.
With the $90, I added $10 and bought a 15" PowerBook G4 that needed some TLC. After fixing it up, I sold that for $300. My original intention was to buy a new car at that point and stop.
So, with the $300, an additional $100, the GPS and the Canon, I obtained a 1990 Acura Integra coupe. My mom couldn't stand the two-door, so I sold it a few days later for $1000. By now I was pretty surprised.
But color me shocked when
I bought a 2001 Prius the same day for that money. It was gonna need a new hybrid battery soon, but it ran. Although a little while later I realized it wouldn't be too up to daily use because of the work needed. I posted an ad again a couple of days later. This time I sold it for $2000.
Now that same day again, I see a 1999 Galant for $1850. My mom talks the seller down to $1700, and we drove home that night in it, and that's the car in the pic.
That story still surprises me.
