he wanted to trade it for a 3-series, but the BMW dealer wouldn't touch the G8.

Yeah right...this is the most asinine statement in the entire thread. Like any dealer would reject a trade on a 360 hp, short production, fairly new, sought after, niche vehicle that trades in at around ~$20k ballpark.

They'd sell that car plenty fast, and if they didn't want to "touch it" they would take it in and run it straight through the auction and make plenty on it.

This is of course assuming your buddy has half a brain and didn't walk into the dealer and spout off about having 4 accidents with it and waving thousands of dollars in repair receipts and an inspection report showing it needing thousands more.

We know you are a BMW fanboy but you can't fool the peanut gallery.

yeah right:rolleyes:

Indeed, you must be the expert on these things.

The BMW dealer didn't take Plymouths on trade at the time for the very simple reason Chrysler had just dropped the brand and too many people were suspicious of getting support, service, etc. for an abandoned brand. The dealer felt they couldn't move the car, especially with a weak economy, and auction prices were in fluctuation. Thus, they told my friend they couldn't offer any kind of reasonable trade for the car.

 right back at ya

Good thing it's a Pontiac and not a Plymouth!

EDIT: I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you meant to type Pontiac instead of Plymouth, but it doesn't matter; the dealer wasn't very bright nor was your friend if neither of them realized that Pontiac's warranty is through the parent company, GM, and always was (and still is). Between the two of them, at least one of them could've spent 10 seconds figuring that out before dismissing a customer and forfeiting a new car sale. Not to mention, considering how bad GM was, they wouldn't have been able to turn away warranty work on the defunct brand no matter how much further in the hole it would've put them because it would've been a PR nightmare to shaft people who had recently bought new vehicles.

Gotta admit, I love the Aztek's. I think they are just funky cool looking, But I have a weird taste in vehicles :D

I used to abhor them, about as much as the Buick Rendezvous. Then I became a fan of the TV show Breaking Bad, and now Azteks make me smile.

Just picked this up. 2012 Fiat 500 1.4 8v for the daughter. I wanted it in white, but I'm quite pleased with the red.

Got it washed today, and showing off the new wheels and track maps. Merry XMas to me!

The wheels are Enkei Racing PF04 18x9. Right now they have some Dunlop 245/40/18, but I will probably replace them later with some 265/35/18 tires, maybe Yoko Advan Neova or Bridgestone RE011.

Looks great! The SO gets her 2012 soon. I only have 51k on my 2004, not sure what I will want next. Maybe I can hold out for a true electric some day. I should post a picture of my play toy here...

I have nothing against the cars, They were supposed to save Pontiac, but they did the opposite. They were just poor sells.

2 seater cars are almost entirely pointless, but the Solstice and Sky were AWESOME looking little cars.

I think I got distracted and forgot to finish my sentence.. here goes:

2 seater cars are mostly pointless to the average person. Of course by average person I mean the person that tells you they're going to buy a new car, and while you could give them many reasonable suggestions until you're blue in the face, they go buy a Honda CR-V.

*shudder*

That, and most people here would probably sooner buy a Miata.
