Talking about the 1 series. Here is my 2011 135i. I just installed the JB N55 stage 2 upgrade. Loving it so far.

Nice looking Bimmer. You know what would be cool? If BMW released an M1. Having a little super car would be appeal to drivers who are single or a couple but still want power.

:) They released the 1M. There was already a M1 back in the 80's which was an iconic car..

I did, but i didn't know it was available in the us.

Yup.. they are out in the US. but are hard to come by.. They only made a certain amount. I think that the US only got about 350 1M's. I still love the widebody that it comes with it. Look how much bigger the back is compared to mine.

Plus they handle a lot better than shows like top gear (uk) would have us believe.

Definitely. They paired it against something twice its cost, and I still think it handles great.

I have heard people say they are more like Grand Touring cars than anything else.

Damn! All of you that own an Audi, Benz or BMW what the hell do you do if you don't mind asking?

Work at Wall St?

USAF, I was just wise with my money, set a goal and stayed within my budget. Plus, I got an awesome deal with the dealer because I was stationed in Germany at the time. Knocked $6k off MSRP.

The majority of these cars are leased, which makes monthly payments more affordable. I have done that in the past, leasing a 5er and an M3. I bought my STi. If I were by myself and only needed one car I would probably go back to leasing a nice BMW.

My BMW was bought brand new. It was the first car I've ever ordered from the factory. It was a pretty awesome experience.

I have a serious question for people that lease:

I was risen with the mentality that i should always buy a car when i have the money to pay it off right there and then, which is the primary reason for why I drive the car i do (its not expensive or anything).

What benefits does leasing have? I know that it makes an expensive car manageable to have but isn't leasing the same thing as renting? When your lease is over, wouldn't you have paid thousands of dollars over the course of the contract but won't have a car anymore?

Just asking cause I always found leasing to be an expensive option for one to rent a car. Again, it might have been the way I was brought up and i apologize anyone whos offended (its not directed towards any of you. mainly younger college kids), but I feel as if leasing is one of the main reasons why we see college kids drive alot nicer cars then they can afford. It defeats the purpose of the status symbol that comes with a nice car if one is using 80% of their monthly salary on car payments. I always assumed that a good car is a luxury and not a necessity.

Anyways, i know its NONE of my business i realize that. My rant is primarily from seeing fellow close friends who aren't financially well off but are driving 335's/STI's/IS250's. Again, I know its not my business but I was always puzzled how one says that he/she has no money, has to borrow money for food and other things but insists that he/she needs a really good car.

I agree with alot of your post. Leasing does pose a benefit to those people that actually DO WANT TO drive a car for only a year. Makes it alot less of a hassle to buy a car outright and then flip it in another year. But then again, IMO, paying 30k+ a year to lease is a pretty steep price. But hey, if you got the money more power to you :p

Haven't been on a dyno yet. Stupid winter months lol. but from talking to the makers of stage 2 it should be around an 350hp now. thinking about adding downpipes next. bump it about another 20hp. So by summer time I should be around 370.

I've been renting cars for the last few months, on weekends as and when I've needed them and I can tell you right now that around $900 a month probably more with having to get a cab home from the rental and the fuel, I would much rather buy or lease a car when the opportunity arises. (The reason I was renting so much is because we live kind of on the border area of Queens and Long Island and aren't particularly close to the subway, the bus is not great, having to use it 7 days a week would be soul destroying and the Dollar Van, seriously, I am no fan of that thing! I also am able to use my UK license at Hertz and they are good with lowering upgrade costs at the Gold Choice area if I feel like upgrading).

It's a very individual thing. If you don't put a lot of miles on a car, take good care of them, like having a new car every few years without the hassle of warranty repairs and want a nicer car than you can get by buying outright, leasing offers an attractive option.

There is no sense in trying to make judgments against people who lease. Everyone has different financial situations. For some leasing is a good option, for others maybe not so much. I have done both. Neither has been an advantage to the other for me.

I didn't see any other Lexus posts so I'll represent! I'm currently driving a 2006 Lexus IS350. My fav part of the car is the heated/cooled seats. The cooled option comes in handy living in Arizona. Black leather seats and 100+ degrees will singe the hairs off your sack.

Just came in this morning! 2012 BMW 335iS.

Mineral White Metallic, Coral Red interior. Beautiful car and a true joy to drive! I took some pics with my 'new' iPad. Quality was pretty good! Will have some pics of the interior soon, and some more 'professional' pics when the weather clears up here in Cali.

Really? I never thought I would mind having a license plate in the front.
Regardless, it depends on which state you live in.

States in blue only require a plate on the back.
