Bought it this morning, it was exactly what the wife wanted. Got it for under invoice, got a good amount on my trade, and took advantage of 0% financing. First new car for either of us--happy wife, happy life. It's a 2012 2.5L w/sunroof. Has heated seats, push button ignition with that smart key that never leaves your pocket, etc. She loves it to death.

dang! I like that! It's really nice! I've never seen anything like it. At first I thought it was a Mustang but I saw the two other doors and bumper/grill so I was like woah! What's it putting out?

Cheers, from the factory she put out 389HP (290KW) but after a few mods, when last tested she was putting out 432HP (322KW). Currently looking at fitting a supercharger.

Up north in Yorkshire :)
Hate to see a Lotus end up like that.

Yours? Everyone make it out OK? I'm assuming she's a FHC from the way she's sitting.

Yeah my dads. It's a racing car, and hence has a full cage, however it is still a dhc. It is a sobering thought as to what would have been the result had there been no cage or harnesses etc... We are both fine, but he has a couple of cracked ribs from being thrown about in the carbon seat :/ Wet road + ****** tires + driving too fast = car upside down in field. I will post some more photos of it the right way up as it is surprisingly not that badly damaged.

Good to hear!

A pre-airflow FHC is on a short list of cars I must have some day... and an Elite to park next her.
;)

In the meantime, this has to suffice.

Nice, congrats. Love VWs, have a 2012 Jetta myself. At first I didn't like how they squashed the hood of the new beetle, but it sort of grows on you. I think the vintage-style hubcabs complete the look.

That is very nice. I think its silhouette is truer to the original. I'd like to see an EV version (so the engine compartment doesnt have to reach out so far) with a shorter front, that'd be even closer to the original then!

Thanks, I thought the older ones were terrible, but I love this one...honestly the red accented interior puts virtually every other car I've looked at to shame, it pretty much ruined me on what I can buy next since nothing seems quite like it, lol.

I never really thought I'd be interested in a poor man's Audi, much less a Beetle; I've always thought VWs were kind of quirky cars for hipsters (and perhaps they still are) but I'm really loving this car, probably as much if not more than the wife. I'm secretly really jealous, and kind of think I might want a Turbo model for myself if the wife approves of me copying her, lol. It's probably one of the top 5 nicest interiors I've seen, because of the red dash, though the Turbo wouldn't have that (carbon fiber dash on all turbos). This car handles surprisingly well and with 170 hp five banger, it's not too slow for it's purpose, it has plenty adequate power to get around town and get out of its own way. Cruising at 70 is effortless, to the point it's hard not to speed, which I certainly wasn't expecting.

Around here there aren't many of these on the road yet, so we get lots of looks driving it around town.

My '97 328ic Convertible completely refinished to floor room condition with original parts. I have had 7 different e36 models in the past and this is by far my favorite. ^^

I voted you down for removing the Ford badge from the front. Still have no idea why people do this, it spoils the look of the entire car IMO.

I removed three badges from the back of my STi (Subaru, Impreza, AWD), leaving only the red STi logo. Fee free to vote me down three times. :p
