Uncovered and backed the corvette out of the garage the other day. Looking forward to spring, new tires getting mounted and alignment next weekend

Remember, this is MacRumors.

@techno96 congrats on the first car!!!

I hate to be "that guy" but you guys realize that a 2007 3 series could be had for relatively cheap. For example, the marketprice around DC is about 17k. That actually makes it cheaper than buying a new Civic. If the carfax is clean, i don't know alot of people who would take a honda over a bmw, even if the BMW is older.

True but $17k is still a good amount of coin for a first car.

Personally I wouldn't touch an 80k mile BMW with a ten foot pole. I did that twice in my life and never, ever again. At this point in my life I'm wise enough that I'd take the Honda given your theoretical above. I definitely would not pay $17k for any six year old car with 80k on the clock. ;)

Very true, especially with BMW's complete inability to make a reliable HPFP (mostly on their turbo motors). That being said, I own one, and I'm worried how things will go once my warranty does.

Would consider a 335.... But a friend of mine had his HPFP replaced 3 times

These are great driving little cars. I'm having a hard time deciding if this or the new F30 328i will replace my old 3 series when it comes time.

Yeah its a lot of fun to drive around. I dont think you could go wrong with the ATS or a 3 series, personal preference is what it'll come down to.

If the ATS-V is anything like the CTS-V it'll be a great car. I've driven a CTS-V sedan before and it beats the hell out of our 2013 Corvette.

Took the words out of my mouth. 80k for a '07 is way too much. I have 60k on my '08 Accord coupe and I drive 100 miles a day 4 days a week. And for $17k? No way, no thank you. Even if it is a BMW.

I paid $6k for my '00 323i with 137k miles when I bought it last April. It's been a damn good little car with some TLC. All new cooling system, new suspension, new fuel pump, various bushings, etc. Now I'm sitting at 156k and it's better now than the day I bought it. These cars require attention so as long as you keep them up they will be quite reliable.

I've driven the sedan, coupe and wagon V's as I have friends with each. While a hell of a ride, I wouldn't say it beats the hell out of our corvette.... Very different cars. The corvette is a lot more raw, the V's are more refined and comfortable. The torque they have is unreal. We don't have a need for the extra seats right now or I would have been shopping V's but for now I'm enjoyin owning a 2 seat raw sports car and the targa top is awesome.

Here's my buddies wagon the day he brought it home... I love the wagon but she rolls her eyes when I say it's sweet. Power tailgate ftw

Here's the coupe and wagon... We went down together for a friends funeral in Washington DC (5 hour drive)... The fiancée and I rode down with my buddy in the wagon, I drove home.
