@ranviper Yay! Another Mazdaspeed 3 owner! You've got a beautiful car there!

I Picked up a 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 a few months ago. It's already got a Corksport turbo-back exhaust (downpipe + catback exhaust), Corksport SRI, Corksport HPFP (high pressure fuel pump) internals, and more little goodies. I've got more major plans for the car (coilovers, Cobb Accessport, etc) but the winter is stopping me from doing any of the extra work... Here's a few photos of my car from a few hours ago. It's dirty because it's been snowing heavy this year, we just got about 8 - 10 inches of snow over the past few days. I'm in love with this car and boost is seriously addicting.

What tires are you running? Do you have dedicated snow tires and rims? Definitely sounds like a fun practical car!

Dude! Love the black! If I hadn't gotten red, I would have gotten a black one. Looks awesome. We too get much snow, in one weekend we got 54, yes, 54 inches. Haha. Makes me miss my summer setup...

I don't have a dedicated snow tire and wheel setup, at least for now. I bought the car in November and really never got around to picking up a dedicated setup. I'm planning on getting a setup for the next winter. I'm rocking what came with the car Enkei PF-01 wheels + Nankang Noble Sport NS/20 (all seasons). The tires are absolutely horrible and incredibly loud in the dry conditions, but to my surprise, they're pretty dang good in the snow. I'm also not a huge fan of the wheels in their current black state, so I'm going to have them powdercoated in the spring. It's such a fun little car, thank you!

Thank you very much! Black, red, and white are probably my favourite colour options available in the second generation Mazdaspeed 3. Can't wait to start working on the car once the weather improves significantly. 54 inches!?!!? Holy crap. That's a fantastic summer setup, I like the meatier tires!

The performance shop I used actually did take photo's. (They take photo's of all their projects in photo albums.) . I don't have them in possession, but now that you mention it, it would be something I would want to keep being I have zero intentions of parting with this Car....ever.

Can you elaborate more on specifics what you have worked and or contributed to? Might be nice to have an online source from someone like yourself. (Aside from the vicious car forums on the web, you probably know what I'm referring too).

Wait, you don't have pictures of your own car setup?? That's a first online from anyone unless they don't actually have what they say.

Did you have the 94-96 Impala SS(police package Caprice) or the recent Holden Commodore badged as the SS?

I have a real soft spot for both cars, although it's a shame that the 94-96s tend to have lived a hard life and are often "thugged out" for lack of a better term. A friend's dad had a 96 he bought new and kept about 4 years, but of course it's long gone.

I've wrestled with buying a new one, although with the model ending it's not going to happen unless I pick up one used down the road. Make mine a 6 speed manual in "Regal Peacock Metallic Green"(or British Racing Green to me :) ) and we can talk :) . Chevy is blowing them out at serious discounts now, but it's really more than I want to spend on a car now(I'm in the beginning stages of restoring a 1958 MGA) and the manuals are thin on the ground.

The other option to get the "experience" for a lot less money but not the power or options is to wait for police departments to start phasing out the Caprice. I know the Kentucky State Police have a bunch of them, although I've not seen many other agencies around here with them-a lot are still getting by on aging Police Interceptors or have transitioned to the Dodge Charger.

Pics above. Holden one. 2015 Chevy SS. Yeah the original SS was one of those favorites in everyone's hearts.

I can understand your reasoning. But paging through this 16 page thread, it's not very extensive beyond mainly photo's and claiming what someone allegedly modified to their vehicle without heavy discussion, which other car forums are far more in detail than a car thread on Macrumors. My claims are valid, I just don't have the requested information accessible at the moment. Anyways, I don't want to stay off topic and moving on to back to discussing cars. Thanks.

I personally think you are full of it. You don't have what you say. You must have some pictures on your smart phone. Everyone does.

Yeah the summer wheels are the Enkei's from an Evo X. They are a little beat up, powder coating before I put them back on this summer. Can't wait, lots to do this year. I have a youtube channel covering the progress of my car and also with car reviews. Search Beards and Boost. :)

We hate car payments so we always buy used, older cars, as we need them. We've only owned 3 in the last 14 years and we are on our third. Got an 89 Legend when we had the first kid. Went to a 99 Explorer when we had the 2nd and kept it for the third. Now that we had the fourth, we had to buy this 04 Expedition. This time, my wife wanted some bigger wheels because we recently got into some light off roading. Pretty happy how this thing looks, but even more happy with the three row seating and even the 1 and 2 settings that adjusts the seat and mirrors to my wife and I. The kids love it, but probably not as much as my wife. I'm just super happy that they all love it so much.

Next time we spend a few thousand on a car, I'm gonna paint and tune the Legend.

Not as cool as a lot of the cars in here, but it's utility as possible. The leaks are from the older Explorer. Gotta replace the rack and pinion.

Nothing wrong with it. I'm in the rust belt so nothing that old looks that nice.
