The simple fact that someone is bought a car who isn't allowed to drive is unfathomable to me.
And I'll second that–it just doesn't make sense.
I learned to drive on my mom's minivan and when I turned 16 my parents were gracious enough to buy me a $5,500 Honda of which I paid $3,500 back to them in $100/month payments. Now that I'm looking for a new car, they won't spend a dime. And franky, they shouldn't.

A girl that lives on my street was given a brand new $30,000+ Accord Coupe for her 16th birthday. If someone that age works for it and buys themselves a new car thats fine by me, but having everything handed to you just makes me mad.

/rant over  :)

OMG that f***'s me right off when you see spoilt kids....makes me uber mad and makes me feel violent.

Some might argue and say that it is jealously but i dont care...im not jealous, i take pride in the fact that i have worked hard for the thigs that i buy.

i might not have iMac G5 but i worked damn hard from my iBook and thats why i take so much care of it.

Wow, why are you so bitter? That is jealousy.

If the kid down the street was given a Ferrari I'd feel happy for him, I would never think "Oh, he never worked hard for that car!"

Kids are spoilt at all levels, not just the ones that get the expensive stuff. A kid can be given a cheap used car and if he doesn't appreciate it, simply takes it for granted and does not even say "Thanks", he is spoiled. Another kid could be given a $40,000 car but if he appreciates it and knows its value he is not spoiled.

Before i graduated high-school my dad pretty much just gave a 71 Chevelle he bought at an auction (my dad is not rich; he makes just enough to be, mostly, comfortable). I could have appreciated it more, but i still love that car (i have been putting off selling it for almost two years now  ) ... lots of memories with that car. It all depends on the kid — most young kids are somewhat bratty at that age anyways — some just handle it better.

I wish my dad made me do a little more for that car; then again, i wish he made me work a little harder for everything else too ... ... maybe i would have appreciated it more; who knows?

I know i like a nice car. ... just wish they'd run off of organics.

My Acura's enginge light just came on. :( ... time for a trip to the dealer; they've been quite reasonable in the past. :)

I'm only 14 (15 in Jan.),

I don't have a car, and I don't even know if I'll get one for my birthday. Hopefully I'll get a nice one. I really like anything with a european look. My Dad drives a 04' Boxster, a harley davidson (no idea what model haha), and a new ford f-150 (i think thats what it's called). But I'm hoping that maybe he'll give me the Boxster when I'm 16 as a birthday present and he can just drive his truck more often (which he already does).

Wish me luck. Haha

Just got me a brand-new electric blue pearl 2006 Acura RSX!

Edited to add: she's replacing an eleven-year-old Acura Integra which served me well....

This is my third Acura hatchback. I really like the sportiness of this car, the way it handles, the nimbleness of it, the ease of parking and the convenience of the hatchback when I've got a load of stuff to carry. You can stuff quite a lot into this car when you drop down both the rear seats. As a one-person or maybe two-person car, it's great, but when time comes to carry more than one other person in it, things do get a little cramped. It's a fun little car and not exorbitantly priced, making it reasonably affordable for many people. Because of the Acura name, there is a misperception that this is an expensive vehicle, but in reality it's the leas costly model of all their offerings.

This is the automatic drive version, rather than the RSX-S model; I have driven stick shift Hondas in the past but the urban area where I live is so crowded and congested with traffic signals at every block that driving around here and having to frequently clutch-and-shift would be a royal pain. If I'd been out in the country I would've opted for an orange RSX-S.

I love my new electric blue girl! It's fun having a brand-new car after all these years.

Yeah i see your point...mabey i was abit harsh.....who know?? crap day mabey..

But yeah i guess i was slightly out of line for saying that but i still think that there is a certain point where that is beyond spoilt.

E.g. did you know that John Travolter's daughter recieves $1 million for every year she lives, there for on her 10th birthday she will get $10 million!!!

Sorry about the out burst people i offended.:)

I don't see a problem with that, good for her.

HAHA okay whatever, im not getting in a huge argument about something so rediculous.

Just forget about it okay...the comment was supposed to be fun, this is stupid now.
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

No no, they're both spoilt.

Really? I would think that he's spoilt, and lucky to own the car.

Sorry, I have a deep seated hatred of dodge, chrysler, and ford.

I'm a GMC person :).

Considering that you own a really, really expensive Ford .....you hate Ford?

Yes I do, Ford is barely related to Land Rover. If they were closely related, my car wouldn't have been in the shop last week because the trunk lock was stuck. If Ford was really involved with Land Rover, there reliability would be much higher. Right now I think Land Rover has the lowest reliability of any consumer level car.

In 2000 Ford bought Land Rover. All I have seen from that is higher prices and for 2006 they are using Jaguar (also owned by ford) engines. In the early 90's a range rover cost in the mid $40,000s, in the mid to late 90's they cost around $60,000, then they jumped to $70,000, then to $80,000 and now they have an 89,000 supercharged version. Not to say there haven't been some special editions such as the Linley edition which cost around $150,000 (under 10 made). In the late 1960s/early 70's you could buy a land rover for under $2500. Hahah, of course Land Rovers were a little different then than they are now and things cost more now.

Although I decided a long time ago I did not like the LR3/Discovery 3 and the Range Rover Sport, they are both starting to slowly grow on me.

GMC all the way. Dodge's will last about 5 years, Fords are just...ehhh (although the built in trailer brake controller in the F-350 is pretty cool), and chevy now has that horrendous grill on the front of their trucks.

And of course, last but not the least (however the hardest to see ;) is the Apple logo. You can barely make it out in the lower centre of the back window. Also a RIT sticker on the upper right. I've since then added a larger RIT sticker upper centre of the back window.
