Ok, here is my project car its a 1988 Bertone X1/9. This car is a little gem, it is still the best handling car I have ever driven. Problem is it is also the fastest rusting car I have ever driven and is consequently off the road at the moment . :(

the Scion Xb. Personally, they are a shoebox with wheels with the engine of a Toyota Echo (wait...IT IS THE SAME ENGINE :eek: )

It's a Toyota.
It cost 1/3 of what your car cost.
The interior was designed by Lexus.
It has more passenger room than the Volvo S60.
Best of all... it gets 34 MPG.

Actually it is a Scion, a division of Toyota Motor Company

If you own a 45,000 car. 14500 base for this car is WAY too high.

I really wonder about that one but I cannot dispute it. Are you saying this because Lexus is another division of Toyota???

It should, it's 20% taller. Yes it will seat 4 people comfortably, and 5 if you sardine them in. The Volvo S60 seats 4 comfortably, but it does it in style.

And the Volvo gets 30 MPG. 2 key points about this.
1: The Scion gets 103 Horsepower at 6000 RPM The Volvo however gets 208 horsepower at 5000 RPM.
2: It does it in STYLE..

The one thing you did not mention was the safety ratings.. I do not know the ratings for the Scion but I can guess that the ratings for the Volvo are much better.

All that being said, I am not really a big fan of Volvo. I just really hate when people jump on a high horse about a car.. It is a CAR. And a god ugly one at that...

I would much rather prefer an XA or an TC Coupe
 
Like many Americans, I love poor-man's luxury (poor fit, fake wood, mushy ride) and no car screams it like the Buick Lesabre. My 1992 Lesabre has 167,000 miles on it and is ready for any drive to any destination. It has seating for six (four comfortably), a roomy trunk, plush seats, and power everything. It even gets 30 mpg on the freeway and about 23-24 mpg on average. I LOVE this car.

Damn dude ... i'm pretty sure she knows it's a Scion. You realize you just got on that Volvo horse right? And it's not all that high; if your looking for style Volvo aint it. At least Paragon has the height advantage in this horse race. ;)

I agree that the Volvo S60 horse is not that high, but it is still a horse and not the stunted growth donkey that is the Scion XB.

But yeah, your right I did jump off the handle a little bit.. I had just had (read, lost) another battle in the ongoing war with my signifigant other and I was in a bad mood anyway. That, and the fact that someone is praising what to me is the god ugliest car in the world, just put me over the edge.

Yeah, I've something to say about those inconcivably large trucks like the Hummer, Exersion, Pick-up's with many tires (and headlights everywhere) :rolleyes: ... Please don't buy them, or use them unless you have a really good reason, incase you have not noticed gas is not cheap, and we are having problems with suppliers of Oil. Thus, having a Hummer to take your self to the store, and to support your large Ego is HORRIBLE , really if you don't have a reason for a big car DON'T waste the money on it, there have been studies that because of people that wastefully use large trucks and cars in the US makes everyone else pay "$0.0672 more per Gallon" and I DON'T like having to pay more to support someone's ego. Really, that my not seem like a lot of wasted money but really 18 Gallon tank fill-up thats $1.20 once a week, and thats $4.83 per month, and $58.06 per year, yes its not a lot, but I don't want to have to pay because of someone's waste do you guys?
