If that is a scratch.......then it is cool. A machine that gets used is allowed to show a bit of character.

As i always say......it is a TOOL not a JEWEL!

Good for you. Wishing lots of characters on your MBA then

finally got a reply from wrapsol support (after contacting them on twitter)

Now they say that there is nothing wrong with their product (after in the first mail admitting that several customers have the same problem with MBA skins) and all customers have to pay to get their Wrapsol replaced under the normal warranty..

Never gonna buy a Wrapsol again. Poor quality of the product and terrible customer service. Both Zagg and Bodyguardz has my vote now. Let's see which one has the best cyber Monday deals..

After reading the problems about the dimension of wrapsol film fitting the 11", I wanted to post photos showing the fitting on mine. The gap between the edge of the film and the edge of the MBA is from between 0.5 to 1 mm, which I think is the intended width. This is like tinting the windows of your car. You don't want to go all the way to the edge, otherwise the film will peel off easily from rubbing during daily use.

I do want to make a note that your installation technique plays an important role in the fitting. The film is stretchable, and so you do need to adjust accordingly during the application to get the best results. Make sure you spray just enough solution that the film such that you can slide the film around to find best position. Go easy using the squeegee as it tends to overstretch. I actually just use a lint-free wipe (kimwipes) and gently wipe the surface repeatedly until the stretch is perfect. This is the case for both the wrapsol films and the Zagg invisible shields that I used in the past.

I may be nitpicking, but the rounding corners of the skin just prove that they're not matching up as well as ZAGG does, no matter how much you want to stretch it.

I'm trying to jump in on ZAGG's 50% off Cyber Monday sale, but their servers are overloaded, I can't get from page to page, let alone make use of their drop-down menus to select my device. I did notice in the pictures that the keyboard skin does go up and around the keyboard, unlike Wrapsol's which is just the palmrest area.

I didn't stretch mine and squeegee use was "feather touch." There was no need. I just used my hands to push out some of the air bubbles and there were very few at that.

On my bottom half, only ONE of the circular cutouts is centered over the black 'foot' piece. The others are off center in multiple directions. However, the sticker is perfectly equidistant from all sides both vertically and horizontally, coming right up to the edges but not touching them.

My top, as I've already mentioned, is too wide vertically. Horizontal fit is equidistant from the sides and doesn't touch either one.

Just a crappy quality control issue at Wrapsol IMHO.

Still haven't received any feedback from my emails sent to them. That's not a good sign of a trustworthy company in my book.

What I have is workable, but not a product I would recommend to others until they get their act together.

I ordered three wrapsols (two for 13" MBA and one for a 11" MBA). The 11" is great with absolutely no overhang. It's a little short all around, but that is better than being too long. Both of the top pieces for the 13" MBA are slightly too large height wise. One is OK as it comes right up the edge and just barely (a hair) comes over the lip of the lid. But the other one overhangs by about a mm. IMO, the lid piece for the 13" MBA piece needs to be cut 1mm smaller in the height direction so that there is no chance that it will overhang the body.

As for Wrapsol customer support:

I received my skin and the case did not have a squeegee in it. I made do with a sponge and felt OK about the fit on most pieces, but wasn't completely satisfied with how it turned out.

I sent them an email, and about a week later they shipped me a whole new skin (with the squeegee this time).

It may take them some time to get to you, but they did right by me.

Just my .02.

This wrapsol skin looks pretty good, but I've owned two unibody macbooks and neither has been scratched. I don't baby them either, I just put them in a sleeve if I'm going to be carrying it around somewhere. I really don't think a skin is necessary as it just detracts from the look and feel of the laptop for minimal functionality, if any.

Im of this opinion for iPhones too, just use the product and if it does end up with a tiny blemish, so what? You'll still get good resale if that's the reason why you are slapping a skin on.

First Wrapsol

Today I got my first Wrapsol. I have installed several Invisible Shield and so I just proceeded like in the past. The installation went very smooth, quite easy to do. I like the finish as others have said you can hardly see it when it is in place. It has just a tiny bit of a grippy feel and that provides some security when you carry it around naked. The wrist pad area was particularly easy to install, wham bam thank you ma m. Looks great.

All these nice things being said I must say it is not as precisely cut as the Invisible Shield covers. I don't think it will cause any problems, it just doesn't absolutely cover every square inch of the MBA. Kind of like the photos above.

All in all I am very satisfied, now we will see how it holds up over time.

I think we can agree that Wrapsol for MBA not has a perfect fit. Product quality is not good and customer support is worse.

I just wish that Zagg or BodyGuardz could make a skin with matte finish...

The top part on my MBA was so much too big that it got stuck in my bag so it started to peel off.

Luckily I ordered a Zagg during their Cyber Monday sale.

I'm a bit sad, but quality goes before looks..

Just a semi-offtopic post on Wrapsol's customer support:

I ordered the Wrapsol skin for the 13" MBA but for some reason, their credit card server was down so my order did not go through completely. I attempted this two more times and still got the error message. I finally tried to order it again the next day and it successfully went through.

Then I decided I actually wanted the glossy look of the Bodyguardz skin so I cancelled my Wrapsol order. The CS person emailed me promptly saying they refunded me $42 bucks.

I noticed, however, that there were 4 charges for $42 on my credit card. I emailed CS again and they apologized for the error and refunded me all charges. Furthermore, they went ahead and sent me a Wrapsol skin anyway free of charge for my hassles.

I unfortunately don't have any use for it because I already have the Bodyguardz installed, but they do have excellent customer service, in my experience at least. All my inquiries were responded to promptly and I ended up with a free skin.

Did they provide an ETA? Been waiting to see how this sorts out before making a decision on what to get.

Nope, just that they are currently looking into adjusting the cut of the film. I'll post when they ship new ones.

actually i got a new one because my MBA was replaced by apple store.

same cut on the old one. but i learned that they keep on saying (customer service - wrapsol) you need to stretched the film.

they are right. use the squeegee, after you applied the film, remove the excess water. wait at least a minute or two.. not too long then applied a little pressure by using squeegee on those corners. the film will stretch..

For those of you curious re: Wrapsol installation I fixed my camera on my work area as I applied the top layer of film and uploaded a little time-lapse video of the handiwork. The film's dimensions made for an excellent fit on my 11" MBA.

When I get around to the bottom I will post footage as well. I plan to resolve the 'no screw holes' issue by removing the bottom screws, installing the Wrapsol film, and then using an X-ACTO knife or other sharp tool to puncture holes (if I sense a possibility of water damage, of course, I can live without the holes).

Puncturing wrapsol is difficult. I am not sure an x-acto would do it or at least do it cleanly. Maybe if you heated it up you could melt a hole in the material but that sounds risky.

Wrapsol has a warranty so if you ever have to remove the bottom piece just pay $5 and wrapsol will ship you an entire new kit. Not sure if this is a legit. use of the warranty but they make it easy enough to do. They have good customer service, they probably would just send you one if you asked.

You guessed correctly. Employing several tools I believed would easily puncture the film on the trackpad film I was able to test the viability of homemade holes. Not at all a worthwhile DIY procedure; wrapsol is alarmingly strong and must be die-cut. We will have to wait for the next run and hope they die-cut the 10 additional holes. Perhaps it's a quality control issue; from the slight offset of my own install (anecdotal posts) perhaps they weren't confident re: their ability to pull off such precise dimensions.

Regardless, I love the way my MBA looks and I'd strongly recommend this investment to MBA owners.

One caution: it's a bad idea to apply the wrapsol film without first covering the ports/magsafe/mic/hinge with the blue masking tape used when painting. Also, you can tape the impermeable paper the top film come attached to directly over your keyboard while applying the inner film. Water and MBA's don's play nice together.

I do like the wrapsol film.

Have it on my ipad and 13" air.

The only thing besides the fit that I have noticed was a slight yellowing of the film over time. It's noticeable on my ipad.

Anyone else notice this?

Got mine the other day. I should have known better. I found the installation process really problematic! I know some of you all have this down pat, but it was not as straightforward as the young lady states on the web site video.

The edges on both sides of my 11 inch do not cover the entire unit. Definitely not cut out well. I don't really care about the screw issue as I will never want to replace the battery, I upgrade whenever new units come out so this does not bother me.

Coupled with the fact that I have several persistent bubbles, I simply can not get out.and two of my corners will just not stay down, which is very distracting and will only sooner or later catch on something and pull up even more.

What is even more irritating is the track pad cover, it renders it totally useless and unresponsive to touch at times, one has to really hit that pad in order for it to register and forget about two finger touch, useless!

Not to mention that is also gives it this slightly sticky tacky rough feeling and no longer has the smooth flat gliding surface that is reactive and allows ones fingers easily glide over the trackpad area. Real fail here!

I am going to retract my previous statement regarding customer service as it appears Google sent those emails into the spam filter and were not forwarded to me, so I apologize to Wrapsol customer service as they have been more than attentive.

With regard to the other recommendations I will take the time the time to reinstall the product and see if that works. Just seems like an awful lot of time and effort for something tis purported to be a relatively effortless install on the web video.

For example: the video on two different occasions recommend that one hydrate your hands before applying the product, which is exactly what I did. However, by the time I was able to peel the product apart from the backing my hands were completely dry.

Now, I just rehydrated, but part of the problem I found was starting that peeling process, If I had longer nails that might help, but I don't, so I found myself going from corner to corner trying to find a way to separate it to start the application process. Eventually it did come apart but this was very aggravating and may very well be why I am having problems with two corners on the finalized product. Not sure reapplying will fix this but when I have time I will go through the whole process again. Thankfully I won't have to worry about separating it this time. I am worried about taking it off, making sire it is clean, not collecting airborne debris and generally having it flapping about while I try and get it aligned.

I have had screen protectors where there is a slight tab on the part one has to peel in order to get it going, this may be something to consider in the future as a way to expedite the application process for customers who may not be able to get that separation process going easily.

Not to be a defender of the company, but one must realize that there is a natural stretch to this film. I finished putting wrapsol on my 13 inch air...

The bottom piece first. When i was finished, it left about 1 mm non-covered margin along the edges. So I actually lifted the thing (carefully) and reapplied, this time with little more stretch (using the included squeeze). I was able to get much better coverage that way.

Now that I knew how to do this, the top went on much easily. Start in one corner and go slowly. You will have to be persistent to get good coverage. For example, if it overhangs (too much stretch), lift up and push down with less lateral force. Vice versa for "too short" coverage.

That way, I was able to cover the top perfectly.... I like the feel much better than my old bestskinsever coverage of my MBP. Second of all, bestskinsever would not give me a replacement when all the edges started lifting even though I used the mbp with much care... Wrapsol claims lifetime warranty....
