Not to be a defender of the company, but one must realize that there is a natural stretch to this film. I finished putting wrapsol on my 13 inch air...
The bottom piece first. When i was finished, it left about 1 mm non-covered margin along the edges. So I actually lifted the thing (carefully) and reapplied, this time with little more stretch (using the included squeeze). I was able to get much better coverage that way.
Now that I knew how to do this, the top went on much easily. Start in one corner and go slowly. You will have to be persistent to get good coverage. For example, if it overhangs (too much stretch), lift up and push down with less lateral force. Vice versa for "too short" coverage.
That way, I was able to cover the top perfectly.... I like the feel much better than my old bestskinsever coverage of my MBP. Second of all, bestskinsever would not give me a replacement when all the edges started lifting even though I used the mbp with much care... Wrapsol claims lifetime warranty....
I must concur. Wrapsol has done a good job in factoring the stretch in the design. This is a very forgiving kit which can produce a near edge to edge coverage easily if you are aware of the stretch properties. I have seen much worse kits from other companies in the past.
This kind of product needs to be stretched in a correct way in order to cover the curves properly. It is one of the core principles in covering a compound curve.
One more installation tip, if you intend to put the Air in a tight sleeve, allow extra time for the film to dry properly. Maybe a day or two. Or you may get film moved up when you slide in and out of the sleeve.
