Might be opening another is laryl stupid exchange mentioning procam to me.. not sure what you meanYes (or use Procam direct to HEIF/JPEG 48 Mpix). I would only do this for pictures where you want very high quality; it shoots a little slow.

ProRAW 48 MP or 12 MP?ProRAW and edited in Lightroom mobile.
It defaults to 12mp as the sensor uses that quad grouping where 4 pixels act as one for better low light.ProRAW 48 MP or 12 MP?
Ah, yes i read that even if you select 48 MP mode in ProRAW it switches to 12 MP once you enable nightmode...It defaults to 12mp as the sensor uses that quad grouping where 4 pixels act as one for better low light.
I use a rammount with a large x grip for the phone. Works on any large phoneCan you share how you mount your phone please?
Yeah. I was hoping for 48mp in night mode. It would be noisy though. There is currently an app called ProCam 8 that will allow 48mp jpeg phots. The jpegs from that app look great. I still get better quality when shooting ProRAW and saving as a jpeg but only slightly. So if you want 48mp jpeg shots without ProRAW, then check it out. I’m sure Halide and Moment will do the same once their apps are updated for the 14 pro.Ah, yes i read that even if you select 48 MP mode in ProRAW it switches to 12 MP once you enable nightmode...
wow the final result is incredible, was this a result of any focus stacking or just purely editing a single raw file? regardless, awesome job.ITS MILKY WAY TIME!!!
I went to my usual dark sky location to test the iPhone 14 pro max in night mode. I must say the new larger sensor is 4x better than the 13 pro max. The Milky Way looks way more realistic and like a DSLR image……finally! Crazy to see these at ISO 12,500 and 10,000… wow. The max ISO of the new sensor is 12,768! Wow. But the images are clean at that ISO. I’m impressed. My iPhone was tracked on my skywatcher Star Adventurer during the 30” exposure to keep the stars pinpoint. Questions??

Can you show how your iPhone is set up with the Sky Watcher? I did some brief research after seeing your comment. I’d like to try some Astrophotograhy with my 14 Pro, but not entirely sure where to start with equipment I need.ITS MILKY WAY TIME!!!

Sure thing I can help. The tracking device does not align itself, you will have to do that, but it’s not hard if you know a little bit about where the Northstar is and basic knowledge of astronomy. I purchased the pro kit for that tracking device which comes with the T rail and the bar with the counter weights on it but you don’t really need that for the iPhone, you will need that if you choose to put a regular camera and big lens on it but it only holds a maximum weight of 11 pounds they say. Just the basic star adventure with the wedge and camera mount is really all you need. I purchased an aluminum adjustable cell phone holder and screwed it on top of the tracking mount for the photos. I did use the night mode on the default camera which only gives me 30 seconds of exposure time. the only reason that I used the tracking device is to get rid of the small trailing of stars caused by the earths rotation. without the tracking device Your stars will look slightly elongated. when I get home, I’ll have to get you a photo of my set up, I don’t have one on this phone right now. This is the cellphone mount that I purchased. it allows me to swivel the iPhone in all different directions while it’s on that tracking mount. Can you show how your iPhone is set up with the Sky Watcher? Is this what you have along with a way to mount your iPhone to it? I see that it’s supposed to auto align itself with the stars as they move in the sky - it was I reading that wrong? The long exposure can be set up in Halide, or do you use a different app? I’m trying to figure out how to set it up on there.

Thank you! So you mount it to glass. I am looking for something that mounts on the headrest (yes, I've tried the solutions from Amazon and they all shake).I use a rammount with a large x grip for the phone. Works on any large phone
Is this the full resolution size? I tried posting a 60mb size picture I took and it said it was too big.
