I use my iPhoneXr to post on this forum and do my emails because it’s larger than my Pixel 2 so is easier to type on.

But I’ve been relying on “Snowball” so much lately I’m thinking of putting my main sim in Snowball and putting my secondary Sim into my Xr. Gosh, Snowball is old and plain looking and I feel like I got a new phone because the software updates make it work really nicely for me. The camera is still impressive.

I find the Always on Display so useful and I love my calendar widget. I just swipe and it’s there. Yeah I can get to my Google Calendar from my iPhone’s widget page or whatever it’s called but I have to scroll down and find it.

If I had a full size Pixel I’d probably be using it for everything because of the additional screen real estate. My husband does prefer his Pixel 3XL display over his XS Max display. He finds it much easier on his eyes.

He also loves having the phone on the Pixel stand. He finds it convenient and useful. I’m glad I went ahead and splurged on that, too.

What we both appreciate so much is how light the 3XL is. The X series of phones are so heavy. 3XL feels like a feather, which is surprising, given its dimensions.

Question: What do Pixel users use Google Assistant for? Wondering as an iPhone user that hasn’t figured out what to use an assistant for. I don’t even know what to try to possibly be disappointed that Siri might not be able to do.

I mainly use to set reminders. I'll tell it to remind me to get something from the store later, etc. I also use it to text, make calls, play music, answer questions, etc. I'm sure it does way more so excited to hear how others use it.

Texts, reminders, timers, playing music, playing podcasts, casting stuff, adjusting smart home things, and asking general questions

That’s pretty much all I use it for. Aside from the play music part - because I’m on an iPhone and don’t use Apple Music. I do some smart home stuff from it, too.

Went to Best Buy to view this phone today. I was not impressed.

The phone does not exude elegance like the iPhone. The screen is also very dim. The super deep notch is fugly, and apparently burn in is pretty easy to accomplish on this device.

No look pass for me.

How does one "no look pass" when you clearly looked at the phone today?

Also, you won't understand until you have to use it.

I really do wish they didn’t do the notch on the XL. It really doesn’t make it look right. I wish they made it look like the regular 3, just bigger. My OCD doesn’t like the bottom chin not being symmetrical to the top of the phone.

I'm hoping Google comes up with a Nacho notch type fix where the you can "hide" the notch with a black bar but still have the clock and other information in the black bar space.

As of right now, the phone software is just so far beyond iPhone it really doesn't matter.

Hey if your #1 priority is having a very pretty phone then more power to you. For me it's the whole package and the 3/3XL delivers. With that said I still disagree with you. The phone feels elegant, well constructed, and solid. I don't have an issue with the notch, brightness, or burn in.

The display on my 3 XL is much higher quality and better than my 2 XL.

Having I owned this phone ( Pixel 3 XL ), what 3 months or now. And I still love it, there's no other Android out now I'd trade it for.

Yeah the notch sucks, but it does fade out of site after awhile. And more memory would have been nice. But overall this phone is smooth, and no lag or very little if there is rarely, and monthly security updates always on time first Monday of the month.

To sum it up, I am very comfortably satisfied with this phone.

If I have one beef, it's battery life on the 3 XL. It's not bad, but not amazing either. I get 5.5h to 6h Screen On time regularly. But would be happier getting like 7h .I think this year's SD855 phones will be much more efficiently

I don’t disagree that the software is WAAAAY ahead of Apple. But I still think Apple and Sammy, and even poor disastrous HTC have better designs.

That’s been my husband’s observation, too.

I know I was expecting it to be one goofy looking phone but the black one I got my husband looks pretty nice. I’ve gotten used to the notch on it and it’s not even my phone.

I think the display is beautiful but that’s subjective.

For me, it took seeing how the software updates made my Pixel 2 seem like a new phone with upgraded camera performance to appreciate what Google is doing with Pixels. To some extent Samsung is also keeping my S9+ camera pretty fresh, too.

Meanwhile when I wanted even the most modest of performance upgrades on an iPhone camera, I apparently have to buy a whole new phone. Or get a custom app.

For example when I simply wanted to have an iPhone that would stop putting a greenish cast to blonde hair in photos I had to go from the 6s Plus to the 7 Plus. To get less of the Monet watercolors effect in zoom or medium light I had to go from the 7 Plus to the 8 Plus. Similarly to get better clarity of lowlight photos I’ve had to go from the 8 Plus to the Xr.

I’ve noticed some real improvement in low light photos in my Pixel 2 just from software updates. There’s less of a cat pee yellow tint and better color accuracy for example. I was not expecting that.

I gave my 6sPlus to my sister-in-law some time ago so I don’t know if the latest updates have made the camera reproduce yellow better. But as of the last that I saw photos from it about a year ago, it was still giving me greenish blonde hair.

The front of the 3XL isn't great. I personally believe the Pixel 3 is a great design for here and now. Samsung and Apple just tend to be a bit more forward thinking.

I love the two-tone back on the Pixel 3/3XL and the Pixel 3 just looks great.

I think the regular 3 looks awesome. It just wasn’t big enough for me. I think the XL looks great except for the notch. I just don’t think a notch is necessary on any phone.

Agreed. I'm genuinely considering Nacho Notch as a way to "hide the notch" but I want to do a little more research about burn in. I don't think it matters, honestly.

My favorite thing about the pixels is the incredibly always on display. I mean, google did everything right here. It shows notifications, weather, alarms. If apple could do something like this, I would be right back with my iphone xs as my daily driver.

When would your cut off date be to order one of these phones? I'm still thinking of ditching Sprint and want a nice new "clean" phone to start from scratch with.

The 1k+ price tag really makes it tough to go through with the order.

Admittedly I did look at the 256gb iPhone Max for a second for something different, but realized I could buy a computer for that price and just revived my iPad mini 3.

Ugh what's up with these exorbitant prices? Almost as bad as home prices in Colorado!:(

The prices on these devices are so bad it's worth risking an ebay purchase.

I'd look at a OnePlus 5T if you want the best phone for the price. A Pixel 3 on sale is an awesome purchase, too.
