I stopped in to Best Buy yesterday and got to play a little bit with a Pixel 3 and 3XL. I was surprised how pretty the 3XL is in person even with the ridiculous notch. The display was beautiful and it’s a shame it also has pwm that has caused at least one of us here to have problems with that. I could not actually see the pwm though ufh because the poor phone was in front of this obnoxiously bright blinding light display. Good grief whose idea was that?! I needed a visor just to see the danged phone. Of course I didn’t have one so I had to improvise using my hair.

I also had a very hard time with the demo software getting in the way. But I got to try the camera. It was very nice, but at this point my iPhone XR camera is close enough in most lighting conditions I deal with, that it would not be worth it to me to trade in my Pixel 2 for a 3 or 3XL. Also, pwm...can’t do it even if I wanted to, sad to say.

If I were able to go for one of these, I would get the 3XL. Even with the outrageous notch, I liked the display a lot. The pink color also wasn’t nearly as hideous as I thought it would be. It was fairly elegant, actually. Sometimes, you really do need to see these phones in person.

I noticed the same thing with the blinding light behind the Pixel 3s. I thought the same thing: It was a really stupid idea to do that!
[doublepost=1542570246][/doublepost]Do any of you who purchased Pixel 3 regret it? Or have any of you returned and decided to wait for the S10? Since there is rumor of there being a "budget" S10 without the curved edges, I'm slightly more interested. But then I remember all of the things I don't like with the Samsung software.

The Pixel 3 has been great honestly. Each passing day, I appreciate it more. Google still has some ways to go in a few aspects, but at the end of the day, it's a terrific device.

The Black Friday prices are a great time to get in, I think.

In regards to Samsung, I gotta say, the regular Pixel 3 feels remarkably similar to the regular S9 in hand. In my opinion, Google's hardware is good enough to wait and see how Samsung handles the next iteration of their Galaxy S line. When the S10 lands, my feelings may change of course, but for now, I don't feel the need to be an early adopter.

The Pixel 3 is reliable. It has great overall software and hardware, the best photography experience, the best AI, and the ever-coveted direct updates from Google for three years.

I recommend it, especially at the BF prices.

Google Pixel 3 will get Call Screen transcript saving by end of 2018

For anyone wondering, the Pixel 3 is terrific at being an actual phone. Great signal strength, great audio quality during calls, and clear speaker quality. It's such a better overall smartphone than the Pixel 2, whose calling experience was pretty terrible.

Whelp, my baseless love for caseless phones bit me the other day when my Pixel 3 did an amazing sky dance and landed on one of the corners. It hit so hard that the glass screen protector came off, went for a sail under my friends car too!

I am happy to report (well kinda) that the only damage was a big chip to the paint in the top corner, and even though it did a belly slide on it’s screen, there is not a scratch on the glass! No damage to back glass or camera either.

Thankfully Audi touch up paint works well on it. I may even wet sand my repair to make it blend better.

Initially, my plan was to have the iPhone Xs Max as my daily-driver and the Note 9 as my Android driver. Then came the Pixel 3. I had always wanted to find out what people were on about when they drooled over vanilla Android. But then I've always loved the super saturated and beautiful displays of the Galaxy S / Note lines, especially for viewing videos (which I do quite a bit).

Anyhow, after having read everything here and on YT, I've come to the conclusion to get the Pixel 2 XL instead. It's the first Google-made phone I own and the first "vanilla" experience of Android for me. I must say, I'm quite enjoying it so far. =D

I also don't see the big issue with the screen. I prefer watching YouTube videos on this phone over my Xs Max due to me being able to get a more saturated picture.

I've just picked up my 1st ever Pixel phone, namely the Pixel 3. So far i'm loving it, it's early days but it is quite possible that i may stick with his phone for some time.

The size is perfect imo. Sure the bezels are a little bigger than say the S9 but the fact that there is decent front facing speakers more than makes up for it for me.

I haven't had the opportunity as yet to fully test the camera but the few shots I've taken side by side with my Oneplus 6T leads me to believe all the reviews are correct, it has the best camera on any smartphone - period.

The only thing that isn't as good as i'd like is the battery life but i'm hoping with a little tweaking that it will improve. Its not bad but it's not great. If that is my only gripe I'll deal with it.

If you're able to use a wireless charger during your day, it's a great way to top off your battery.

Lookalike Best Buy is doing a $400 off promotion on the pixel 3, does anyone know if the Verizon Pixel 3 will work with AT&T WiFi calling?

Except it looks like you have to finance it through Verizon to get that price. One time payment pricing isn’t discounted.

Ok, just went ahead and ordered through google again since I need WiFi calling and wasn’t sure I could get it with the Verizon version.

And wow, looks like it’s sold out and I won’t get mine until after the first week in December, big difference as only 2 weeks ago I got it the next day.

Also, they don’t have a black pixel stand?

I ordered a Just Black 64GB Pixel 3 from the German Google Store (Pixel’s aren’t officially available in Finland yet). Let’s see if and when it gets here. The low-light qualities of the camera will be useful especially for the next 4 months or so :)

I ordered the white xl a week ago and hasn’t shipped yet. Says “delayed”.

At full price? You should try to cancel or ask for a price adjustment. Not sure if Google does price adjustments.

Too bad there is a $35 restocking fee for returns. BS policy, and another example of Google making it harder to get the device into people's hands to try.

Hope it works out.
