At full price? You should try to cancel or ask for a price adjustment. Not sure if Google does price adjustments.

Too bad there is a $35 restocking fee for returns. BS policy, and another example of Google making it harder to get the device into people's hands to try.

Hope it works out.

I bought the buy one get one half off deal when it went live. Might have been only six days.

I've just picked up my 1st ever Pixel phone, namely the Pixel 3. So far i'm loving it, it's early days but it is quite possible that i may stick with his phone for some time.

The size is perfect imo. Sure the bezels are a little bigger than say the S9 but the fact that there is decent front facing speakers more than makes up for it for me.

I haven't had the opportunity as yet to fully test the camera but the few shots I've taken side by side with my Oneplus 6T leads me to believe all the reviews are correct, it has the best camera on any smartphone - period.

The only thing that isn't as good as i'd like is the battery life but i'm hoping with a little tweaking that it will improve. Its not bad but it's not great. If that is my only gripe I'll deal with it.
How do you rate the Pixel 3 vs the OnePlus 6T? Is the Pixel 3 worth the extra money? Are there any Pixel exclusive features that push it over the top?

I ordered a Just Black 64GB Pixel 3 from the German Google Store (Pixel’s aren’t officially available in Finland yet). Let’s see if and when it gets here. The low-light qualities of the camera will be useful especially for the next 4 months or so :)

Did you use any service like mailboxde to forward the package to Finland?

I've had the Pixel 3 for four days now and it's the best phone I've ever had. For me it's almost perfect.

I like the size more than anything, it's quite comfortable to use in one hand, however, it's wide enough to type 2 handed if you prefer.

I found the Pixel 3 and the 6T to be quite comparable for the most part in regards to software and features. Visually there are a few differences but they are both flying machines. While I think the Oneplus is faster I like the more polished feel of pure stock, there's a smoothness to it .

There are a few features the 6T has I wish the Pixel had, 2 of which are File Locker and reading mode but I can live without them. Out of the box the 6T is more customisable but the advantages that Oxygen OS has over stock is irrelevant to me as I always use Nova Prime.

For the price there isn't a whole lot to complain about on the 6T but there are two issues I have on the 6T. One is typing accuracy, with the Oneplus gestures enabled the keyboard is right at the bottom of the screen. With it being a big practically bezel less phone it's quite a stretch down to the space bar and makes typing for me unnatural(I have big hands). I have to consciously force my thumbs down further to hit certain keys and am often mistyping words. On the iPhone XS they have the keyboard raised a bit from the bottom of the screen to alleviate this problem. Sure you can use the floating keyboard feature of Gboard/SwiftKey but you can then end up with the text box under the keyboard which is weird.

The second is the in screen fingerprint scanner, it's hit or a miss. If you consistently use the same finger to unlock its ok but if you switch to a less commonly used finger it doesn't work or is sooooo slow.

A couple of other things:

The speaker on the 6T is only a down firing one, it's loud and clear but it can't compete with the Pixels front facing stereo speakers, they're miles better. I watch a lot of YouTube videos so that makes a difference to me.

The camera on the 6T is pretty good the Pixels is superb though. Sure you have a dual camera set up on the former but that doesn't interest me. The Pixel can do everything the dual camera of the 6T can do but better - with just one.

Is it worth the money? For me it was.

You can't go wrong with either but it depends what you want.

I just selected the courier delivery option in the Google Store itself and added Finland to the address lines. The free delivery option had a risk of the package getting bounced around Germany as my postal code is in the same range as the German ones. That courier option seems like it was 13,99€ well spent.

A little offtopic, but if any homegrown OnePlus security feature is included in a purchase decision, it's a good idea to research and maybe poke around the feature a bit before making any purchases based on its availability. That's because OnePlus has a history of cutting a few corners too many when implementing such features. Their Secure Folder funcionality back when I had the OnePlus 5 promised file encryption, but it turned out the files were just renamed with no encryption at all and placed in a hidden folder that the default file manager wouldn't show without you authenticating first, but for any 3rd party file manager it was just a regular hidden folder where renamed files were sitting totally unencrypted. This alone - while highly suspicious - wouldn't be that bad as mistakes do happen and features occasionally ship unfinished or buggy, but when a bug report was filed about this behavior, OnePlus closed it as "works as designed" (by a drunken monkey possibly?). That's the point when I sold off my OnePlus 5 and haven't touched their phones since, but naturally there's a possibility that they've cleaned up their act since that. However, with their track record it's a good idea to take any of their additional security features with a grain of salt.

Ordered a pink Pixel 3 for someone. Black Friday prices are solid.
I take it that this lucky someone doesn’t read this forum. That’s going to be a nice gift. The Black Friday deal was a good one, though I think all these smartphone prices have gone way too high and the sales prices just put them where they should be. I always laugh when Flossy Carter says “The price is to gatdam high.” Preach it, Floss. Lol though of course he pays it anyway because dude is loaded thanks to his channel.

Unfortunately, I can’t talk about gift purchases anywhere on this forum because my family is tech nutty and reads MR. I think even my sister-in-law has visited once or twice, at least to read.

One basic things I love on the Pixel phones, is the Google Now feed on the left screen, or whatever they call it now?

You can customize it to the news, sports, tech stuff you like.

I’m glad to hear that. Sounds like it will rock for all the lucky people getting one this holiday season.

What Ad Blocker are you guys using on your Pixel 3s ?
[doublepost=1543100029][/doublepost]I just bricked my Pixel 3 XL trying to install TWRP Recovery. Was rooted all this time, just fine. I get so frustrated with rooting, etc... Wasted a couple hours figuring it out how to get it back up and running. Think I'm done doing that from now on.

First stock Google phone I bought was the Nexus-One, and I waited in line first day the Nexus-S came out. Since have owned the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, the Pixel 2 XL, and now Pixel 3 XL.

Used to root and ROM them all, except stopped with the Pixel 2 XL as I found stock to be really good for once. I did root it at first, but found the monthly updates to be a pain in the ass to install when rooted. So I went back to stock for most the time having that phone, and honestly could barely tell the difference, as stock was that good.

Saying that, maybe best I just remain stock now again. Really don't have the time to to waste tinkering away on my phone. I just want smooth stock vanilla Android running smooth as butter with the latest updates and zero hassle.

Only reason I rooted it was for ad blocking and the themes that was pretty good ad blocking now being on stock and it's a lot easier and hassle-free getting the monthly updates when you're not rooted
