Excellent comparison vid, thanks! I'm loving these posts especially since the Pixel isn't being released in my country so I can't check them out for myself before ordering.

So the vid is not much smaller on the Pixel, but still noticeably smaller. In this vid, does the video on the Pixel extend all the way out to the bezel (long sides)?

Yes it goes the full length of the phone, including the hole punch camera area on some videos. Here is an example of a movie.

::NOTE:: The poor sounding Audio is NOT the Pixel's speaker.
You are listening to the Xs Max that has a partially blown main speaker. Coincidentally I sent that phone to Apple to have it replaced under AppleCare, from which they claimed the damage was caused by some type of ingress (they didn't specify) and would not warranty it. Thanks Apple, I will just watch an iFixit video at some other time as this is still one of my favorite iPhone models ever, and still has your orphaned 3D Touch that I still miss on newer phones.

My Pixel originating from Rancho Cucamonga is still listed as being at the California FedEx facility. My Trade in box arrived days ago. I’m in the same mess with my Apple Watch. The trade in box arrived days ago but the watch only recently moved from China and should get to me tomorrow. I’m going to have to spend tomorrow contacting Apple and Google to let them know I can’t send my trade ins by the deadline at this rate.

I might be able to make the Apple deadline but I’m only going to have a couple of days to evaluate the new watch.

I did some searches and found there are people on other forums like Reddit that have their Pixels stuck with mine. One person said their phone was moving but it was bouncing around from facility to facility between California and Illinois (I think is what he said) last week, but not getting any closer to his house until one day it just showed up, unexpectedly.

I wish I could just cancel now and do this all later in the year like I’d originally planned. But honestly I’m not sure this issue with transportation is going to be any better then, either. I’m really nervous about Christmas. Best Buy already looks like it was ransacked in a raid. They even sold off display models apparently or they had displays stolen? It was weirdly apocalyptic when I dropped in last week.
Rancho Cucamonga 🤣🤣🤣 that sounds like something straight out of Austin Powers

Meanwhile, when attempting to pull videos and photos off my 13 Pro for a comparison video between Pixel models, I get this lovely error.....

Screen Shot 2021-10-31 at 9.38.02 AM.png

This is using an Apple Lightning to USB-C cable, on an Apple MacBook Pro M1, connecting to an Apple iPhone 13 Pro, using an updated copy of Apple's Image Capture. 13 PRO phone, MacBook PRO ? Perhaps not. ;)

I had no issues pulling photos / videos off of my Pixel 3 or 6 using Android File transfer. None, Zero, and the copy speed was blazing fast as expected because their phones have a Professional USB-C connection and transfer speeds.

Posted up 16 shots comparing the Pixel 3 and Pixel 6 cameras the other day. All in the Camera comparison thread. Videos to come later too!

The Alternatives™ Photo & Video Comparisons Using Phones You Have!

As an aside, I am still greatly impressed with how good the Pixel 3 does. Phone / camera has aged well. But some may disagree.

Worse, I can’t stop saying it. Over and over and over. Sometimes I even do a little dance while singing “Rancho Cucamonga” while I’m doing chores.
Great now I may catch myself doing that too! ;)

See, it is catchy isn’t it?!! It’s almost impossible to say “Rancho Cucamonga” without doing at least a little shoulder shake! 😆

I can’t wait to add some photos to that thread you created. My husband would let me borrow his 6Pro, but I’m taking this waiting time to recover fully from the mess the iPhone 13 Pro made of my nervous system. I don’t want my time evaluating the Pixel 6 Pro display to be tainted by the optical and standard migraines I’ve had to shake off from the last month. I’m not even using my S21 Ultra at the moment. I’m taking a full break from OLED.

But from what I saw Friday and yesterday, the display was really comfortable. S21 Ultra does the curves better, though. But 6 Pro text was so much more crisp and in focus for me. I hope the 6 Pro I get is that good. My husband has a few complaints and nitpicks but I’m sitting next to him saying “Oh, whatever. It WILL be mine!”

I am hoping the Pixel screen takes care of you on your model. I really am enjoying the screen on the 6 so far. Works well in outdoor lighting, and looks great even coming from the Xs Max, and 13 Pro screens which spec a bit higher on paper.

The flexibility Android has for me to shrink down text , icons, and the UI make the phone feel much bigger than it actually is, yet has great text clarity. I still have decent near vision, so I can see text clearly at the smallest setting. I enjoy that to its fullest.

May the Pixel 6 be yours and work nicely.

?

...and Rancho Cucamonga is pretty great.

It’s frustrating as weather is awful here so not got much Chance to test out the cameras on good lighting yet. With heavy rain forecasted for tomorrow as well :(
Actually, that’s when you should test them. All of these cameras do well in good lighting. Where they tend to differentiate themselves are in challenging lighting circumstances.

Anyone with both P6 and P6Pro? I do have P6, which I got by just walking into BB and snatching it off the shelf (in that awesome pinky color) - and it's great.
Still, urge to get latest/greatest is pushing me to think onto moving to P6P. I don't really need it per se, but just keep wandering if additional camera and 120Hz justify 300$ and bigger size (which is a downer in my book)?

So it's been more than a weekend now with the Pixel 6 Pro. Thought I'd post some more thoughts having used this since Thursday.

Pros
+ Design. Polarising, but I personally love it. I love my Sorta Sunny colour, but I don't think you could go wrong with any of them.
+ Haptics. Best on any Android I've used. So good. And it really matters to me!
+ Cameras. I love the camera. It's the classic Pixel experience with some added benefits. We all know what they are now, so no need to go over them again!
+ Telephoto. It's incredible. It's such a good lens that I'm yet to not be impressed with a zoomed shot.
+ Material You and Stock. I've always been a massive fan, and that's just strengthened with Material You. It's an amazing visual overhaul. I love how the colours of your wallpaper carry on throughout the whole interface. It's just an amazing design choice IMO and very immersive.
+ Screen. Love the screen. Love the 120hz. Having come from a 120 in my Flip 3, this feels just as responsive.
+ New touches. Things like the tapping on the back of the device to perform an action and my new favourite - Extra Dim! I know tapping on the back of a phone isn't a Google Pixel thing, as I could do it on iPhone. But I loved it there and I love it here.
Extra Dim is brilliant. I am always on my phone in bed and have used Extra Dim every night since owning this device.
+ Price. I really don't think enough praise has been given to the price of both the Pro and regular 6. It's so competitive, and I'd pay £849 for this over whatever an S21 U costs every day of the week. Same with a 13 Pro Max.
+ Pixel features. The Now Playing feature, Call Screening, translate and other Pixel goodness are such good additions and what I love about using a Pixel.
+ Call quality. The sound of calls seem better than my Flip 3 to me. Crystal clear.
+ Google assistant. Just works better on Pixel. Any other android I have to unlock or open the device when using voice assistant. This just works every time. Setting timers, asking questions etc, it never fails on my Pixel.

Cons
- Early bugs and software issues. I've had some freezes, some woerd quirks and bugs. When I pull notifications down, sometimes I get a UI coloured background pulled down, other times that doesn't happen and I can see the app behind the notification panel. No biggie, just not consistent.
- Too big. The phone is too big for me. I will have to adjust, as I don't want any other device. I'd love to own the 6, but I want that telephoto lens.
- Curved screen. Don't like them.
- Finger Print scanner. I haven't had an issue with mine, but I know it's not as quick or responsive as I'd maybe like.
- Tap to wake doesn't seem consistent to me. Or it plain just doesn't work. Lost count of how many times I've had to wake my phone by pressing the power button because tapping the screen isn't responding.
- UI is great but too bouncy. I've enabled developer options and reduced UI animations from 1 to 0.5. This has made the UI animations less aggressive. The phone also feels snappier for it. I always do this with my Androids though.
- Widgets. Some widgets are a bit oversized. I know that's the theme here for Android 12, but they often can't be reduced without going too small. A size in between would be just right.

My opinion on a lot of the above could be subject to change as I carry on using this phone. I said I'd make a decision on Sunday about buying a regular 6 to compare, but truth be told, I'm starting to adjust to the MASSIVE size now. If the 6 were £100 more and had the telephoto there would be absolutely no contest. Maybe next year?!
Not mentioned charging or battery as it's neither a pro or a con for me currently. I'd say it's more of a pro as it got me through Saturday up til bed time, and I can't ask for more than that.

Here's hoping to some software updates and smoothing out of issues and then it'll be even better!

It's up to you if you want/need the telephoto, not for anyone else to say.

Great post. One question from me - is call screening now available in the UK? It's one feature that I was always interested in but not available here.

I would generally agree with this list. The biggest negative are definitely the FP scanner and maybe the battery (too early to tell). I love Android 12 but I agree it has some visual quirks. The only functional issues I've noticed are selecting text sometimes fails which has been annoying.

I think from a price standpoint, the regular Pixel 6 is about the cheapest flagship experience you can get and is one hell of a deal. The 6 Pro is a tougher sell because it gets closer to current S21 Ultra prices which is still arguably a better phone and the iPhone 13 Pro which is probably better as well.

First shot of each dog is the Pixel 6, second is iPhone 13 Pro Max.
All good shots...I'd be pretty happy with any of them. If I had to choose, on the first set I think the iPhone did a slightly better job catching the outline of your pup and thus a better bokeh, slightly more detail. On the second set, I think the Pixel has better detail and less blown highlights from the windows behind him. Both sets are pretty close though in quality.

Thought the exact same thing!

iPhone has that horrible yellow tint to both photos. I think it only works better in pic 1 because the doggo is yellow. But pic 2 is much better looking to me. I could tell you which was which without you saying ?. Dat yellow hue.
