I turn my phone off when it's not working properly.

Off and on. That'll fix it! Haha
Ditto.

OK, I have to say I've been wholly impressed with my Pixel 6 Pro, it has been outstanding so far.
I also think this is the first Pixel in Google history where iPhone users will seriously consider either switching from the Apple ecosystem or simply having their Pixel alongside other Apple products like a MacBook Pro, iPad etc.
Google have finally released a genuine flagship contender.

In fact, my duelling days are now over - my missus will be having my iPhone 13 Pro Max and I'll be selling her 12 Pro Max!

Further general points and observations I can make from the dual with my 6 Pro and my 13 Pro Max:
  • Design - Pixel 6 Pro design looks fresh and modern in a sea of sameness, the weight is evenly distributed in the hand. Height for me they've got right but maybe too high for some people. I think due the aluminium sides compared to stainless steel sides of the iPhone means it doesn't feel as premium as the iPhone - but definitely easier to hold and use due to being thinner. I was worried the square edges would be an issue but no. My 6 Pro screen looks noticeably whiter than my 13 Pro Max screen, even changing the hue on the iPhone. Width on the iPhone is my issue, it just doesn't feel as good in the hand as the Pixel. I'm rocking the official 6 Pro cases, got all of them lol so alternate. Waiting for Dbrand Grip with Teardown skin to arrive in December;
  • Screen - Curved edges as @Aneres11 mentioned do make for a more immersive experience when watching video in landscape and also flipping back between screens etc. but the flat screen of the 13 Pro Max is still easier to use. For the Pixel Pro 7 or whatever it will be called, I'd like to see a flat screen with no bezel. 120Hz refresh rate is as smooth on both. FPS on the 6 Pro is a bit slower than what I'd like but I've had a 100% accuracy rate. Do use face unlock all the time on the iPhone so I'd really like to see face unlock on the 6 Pro, would be mega if Google could do that on an air-drop. Security issues aside, the 4XL face unlock was ridiculously fast. For screen protection, I am using a MediaDevil screen protector which is TPU/PET type material - it has proven outstanding, following a wet application, no air bubbles after 12 hours, doesn't feel quite like using glass but its still silky smooth. Oh and I turn my 6 Pro off at night - just say 'Power Off' to the Google Assistant! The 13 Pro Max is currently my wake up alarm!;
  • Battery - Life has been immense, from regular, pretty hard use I'm still getting 1.5 days out of the 6 Pro if not more, yes iPhone battery does effectively last longer the but no issues with 6 Pro battery during my usage. Charging is one point I'd say the Pixel 6 Pro needs improving. Initial fast charge but that last 20% is too slow, I understand why to stop battery degradation but I'm expecting an increase hopefully after software updates - certainly doesn't feel like 30W fast charging compared to others.
  • Camera - between both is too close to choose, some photos look better on the Pixel, others on the iPhone. I'd like macro mode on the 6 Pro but no biggie. Really love Night Sight, seems to have improved from previous Pixel's as its faster - and especially Astrophotography which has been stellar. You need a tripod etc. to make it work properly but its so good! I know Google were not highlighting Astro this year but it's still magnificent when you get it right! Overall, it comes to the emotion factor on how the photos make me feel and in that regard, the Pixel wins for me. Also using the camera on the Pixel is more fun, I'd love to see more 'pro' features though that Sony do. That Verge video where Becca talks about the 2000 photos she took sums up the differences between both sets of cameras really well;
  • Video - personally I am really happy with the Pixel 6 Pro video, impressed more so especially compared to the 4XL and 5. Huge leap in video quality. In both 4K 30ps and 60ps the 6 Pro delivers and produces superb video in a lot of different lighting conditions. Yes, the 13 Pro Max video has taken it a step further, overall better that the 6 Pro with Dolby Vision etc. but Cinematic mode is more a cool gimmick as it stands. The gap is now a lot closer. I also do videography work & have professional video cameras so prefer the iPhone video for overall quality but still happy with how the 6 Pro performs.
  • Software - Material You is just a real joy to use compared to iOS - love how the Material You pastel colours are spread across the whole system. Be nice to see different other solid colours in the mix too. Obviously getting old as I've not actually even delved into Developer Options yet, considering I used to love installing & flashing custom ROM's in the old days! Tensor chip is on its first outing so will be interesting to see what Google can do with it. Love Google Assistant so much I've stopped manually texting and use it where I can for all writing.
  • Price - I've left this point to last but its one of the post important. I'm UK based so the price of my 13 Pro Max was £1049, my Pixel Pro was £849. That is £200 difference straight off the bat. Take into account the Bose 700 headphones as part of the UK Google Pixel pre-order offer, they are worth a further (minimum) £200 if I sell (I know you guys get the free Pixel buds in the US). Remove the headphone price off the 6 Pro cost of £849 and I'm left with a £649 Pixel 6 Pro that 100% competes, often excels against a £1049 iPhone 13 Pro Max. A £400 difference is a complete no brainer on which is better value for money. Google pre-order deal aside, whether your a die-hard Apple or not you've got to question the mark-up/profit Apple make each year on each iPhone. For those that don't need the larger / better 120Hz screen, telephoto camera, better front video, extra RAM etc. the Pixel 6 at £599 comes down to £399 with the headphones deal! Absolutely phenomenal value! Next stop on my buying list are the Pixel 2 stand when Google finally release it and the Pixel Buds A during Black Friday.
Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro best phones of the year? Yes, I'm calling it on this one!

Curious do you use Auto Brightness ( Adaptive brightness )? Or set it to a specific Brightness level % indoors?

Anyone run into issues with autofocus in low light? Snapped a few pictures of my dog at night and the Pixel completely missed the focus and iPhone was on point. Probably helps having the LIDAR.

Just installed this LK Tpu protector P6 Pro easy installation and feels like not on phone... This will keep away any micro scratches..

A couple more shots. So far realIy liking the base 6 camera. Such an awesome shooter for $600!!!

did compare to 13 pro and did have some shots I preferred from that device, but that is for a different discussion and I paid a LOT more for that device!!View attachment 1909049View attachment 1909052View attachment 1909057
You’re such an excellent photographer that I often forget you’re working with the Pixel 6 and lack the zoom lens. You know how to frame your subjects and compose your scenes so nothing ever feels lacking.
