Adaptive Brightness has gotten considerably better on my Pixel 6 over the past week, since I started diligently moving the slider on my own to my preferences. I probably have to manually change it only once or twice a day now at most.
Google's devices has always lagged behind with Apple's devices when it comes to adaptive brightness. The auto brightness scaling on an iPhone or iPad is just unbelievably good/smooth changing in their lighting environment whereas Google's devices tend to struggle a bit with that. I tend to just manually set the slider as I need it.

Yup. I've never had to adjust brightness when I use Auto Brightness on a iPhone. Same for my past experiences with Samsung devices.

This Pixel 6 however is far superior to my adaptive brightness experiences on previous Pixels. Those were just plain bad.

Over the weekend I used a few different phones..... s21 Ultra, iPhone 13 PM and Pixel 6 Pro.

I just keep coming back to the 6 Pro time and time again.
For me it just provides a better overall user experience.
There are some things each phone does better than the others.
But the 6 Pro just has some features that enhance the user experience for me.
Android on pixel is just on another level than most smartphones IMHO

Do you have a spare phone I can borrow for the weekend? Lol I have not touched my ZF3 other than inside the house. It's my mini tablet. Anyone interested in iPad Air? I think I have to get rid of this bad boy

Been digging this dark wallpaper on my 6 Pro, not sure where I originally found it, but it looks cool on this display;

I just picked up a pixel 6 as a backup/toy. I am quite liking it so far. First android in several years and they seem to have come a long way. Got it in sorts seafoam. Was going to get the grey one but I thought why not! It's actually a nice looking device.
Congrats! Welcome to the family

I'm a crazy guy and have both the Pixel 6 Pro Cloudy White bought first, then freaked out because was HUGE and I hate curved edge displays, then picked up the Pixel 6 Seafoam Green, and at first LOVED the flat screen and smaller size, and more user friendliness.

But ... I did notice the performance difference, it's not a big difference, but the 6 Pro is just a smoother, more fluid and lag free phone, where the Pixel 6 I have to admit does have a tiny bit of hiccup or very minor lag here and there, where the 6 Pro just doesn't at all. Not saying the Pixel 6 is like some old Android laggy phone, not at all, it is a great phone, but it does have a few split second slow downs once in a while, that I just don't see on the Pixel 6 Pro.

I wish Google gave the Pixel 6 the same exact hardware spaces as the Pixel 6 Pro, like the 120hz LPTO display, and 12GB RAM, and telephoto lense, etc...

I returned my Pixel 6 because of buyer's remorse; $600 for a side device is ridiculous. The price was eating me up with guilt. Instead, I purchased a brand new Pixel 4 XL for less than $300. I'm finally getting one!! It should be here in a week!

I personally would have gotten the Pixel 5a for $100 more.
