Yeah I am not going to enable this on my pixel 3! Thanks again for the help!
Most welcomed. Just don't use it if your life depends on it as by the time you say send on the second response you might be in trouble my friend..

This is my comfortable low-key homescreen:

Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving the other side of the pond!

I am still really enjoying my Pixel 6 Pro, the different lenses can take some spectacular shots in the right lighting conditions. I do miss the video quality of the iPhone Pro Max, it's not a deal-breaker as I use professional cameras for videography. Google's video is good but not on par with Apple's yet but the division is the closest it's ever been. However, the voice assistance features etc are absolutely next-level on the 6 Pro, it really does feel like using an actual 'smart' phone this year.

I just wish Google has gone with a flat screen and made the 6 Pro more 'Pixel' to hold and use. I'm currently rocking a Mediadevil screen protector like someone else on here. It was a wet install, pretty difficult process overall but I have no air bubbles so looks clean. My only gripe is it's not a tempered glass screen protector due to those curved edges so, whilst smooth, it still feels a bit sticky compared to that natural smoothness of real glass.

Holding out some hope that Google will release a face unlock software upgrade as per Samsung.

My Z Fold3 arrived this week so I'll be setting that up and seeing how it compares to the 6 Pro and 13 Pro Max that my better half now has. I may keep both but realised I'm more of a power user this year with devices so the Fold3 may be better suited to my own needs.

Also picked up an S7+ tablet in the Black Friday sales to compare to my iPad Pro. The S8 Ultra tablet is out early next year too. I've still got my iMac and now new MacBook Pro (yes it's been a bloody expensive tech year!) so I'll always be tied to the Apple ecosystem but 2022 will be a combo of Apple & Android for me.

Great to see Pixel 6 Pro prices dropping for those people wanting to buy. Although it's definitely alarming the fast rate Google Pixel prices fall off a cliff compared to Apple. I can keep my iPhone for the best part of 11 months and still get a reasonably decent return on it. Whereas the Pixel will only be worth a few hundred dollars/pounds after that duration.

Would love to see the Pixels hold a bit more value but I guess as they will always remain more of a specialist Android device, the majority of non-tech consumers would opt for Samsung, therefore there is less demand for the Pixel's. I'm not sure it was a marketing ploy or just not enough first stock inventory but Google certainly created their own bubble of demand for Pixel 6's and 6 Pro's by selling out so soon both here in the UK and US!

I think just like the fabric cases, they look great. Google just doesn't understand that they need to be functional as well and provide some protection.

I don't understand? It is very protective? I think so, anyway.
I'd rather this than the slippy fabric ones we used to get that looked like cr*p after a month.

I'm going to assume I'm the only person who actually kind of likes the official Google case for Pixel 6?
I just ordered the Stormy Sky 6 Pro Google case. I currently am using the Spigen Ultra Hybrid and I like it alot. It appears to offer great protection but I love the look of the Google case and how it shows the camera bar all the way across whereas the Ultra Hybrid covers the ends up, kinda taking away from the "Googly look".

I'm not sure if my skin compliments the Google case but it's definitely a nice case...

Looks nice. Love the skin.

I think I'll like the case. My Google Store credit covered the cost so if I don't care for it no big deal. May also order the clear ultra hybrid as well. Love the way the Ultra Hybrid feels and the clear shows off the camera bar even though it's covered.

Anyone got the Bellroy leather case for the Pixel 6? Any thoughts? I have just ordered one and looks quite good going by the pictures.

It's hard to tell from the pictures, but does the Google case add more bulk? I really like the Spigen clear case I have as it's really thin but the Google cases look really nice in every picture I've seen.

Hi all, thanks for the well wishes. I tried and failed this morning to get a timely appointment with my actual doctor. He had been on vacation, so I made the best of it with Teladoc and previously, urgent care clinic. The waits were in the HOURS even for those options.

The medication I was prescribed helped a little at first, but then I got worse on the urgent care instructions and meds and am at the point on the Teladoc solution where I’m advised to get further care. I got two completely different diagnoses from the two sources.

My actual doctor will only do in-person once a week now and is booked up for that for awhile, and the rest of the time he’s only doing FaceTime consultations. (He only has an iPhone so I don’t know how he handles Android using patients). And I refuse to stick the phone up to my eyeball in the kitchen where the light is adequate. Been there done that with Teladoc and it was clear the Teladoc doctor struggled to see anything. So I’m at an impasse on that front now.

It’s incredible how poor the access to healthcare is now. It’s been trending this way for years, so it’s not all COVID’s fault. Oh well at least the treatment I was able to get from the clinic and from Teladoc has allowed me to open and use my eye again so that’s something at least. I’ll figure something out about getting a proper diagnosis.

Anyway, getting back to Good Googley moogly stuff, because I agreed to sign up for annual Google One subscription instead of monthly, I got some savings on my bill and I’m getting sent a free Nest Hub Gen 2

I don’t know exactly what I’ll do with it but it’s a new toy to play with. It should arrive today or tomorrow.

Our household is still a weird mishmash of IOS, Amazon Alexa and a little bit of Google Assistant. It’s so flipping hard for us to pick a lane and stay in it. I’m wondering if we ever will.

I think Apple really dropped the ball on their ecosystem when they dropped printers and other peripherals. They should have doubled down on connected everything.

I’m still unable to set up my Pixel and my iPhone XR fully as I need to. What I set up the first few days is all I’ve been able to do.

But I have been able to take photos! And I’ve been absolutely thrilled with the Pixel results with the Christmas lights. I’m going to post some next chance I get.

Well, gotta go. Oh and as far as the official Google pixel cases go, they look awesome in everyone’s photos! I do miss fabric cases but these look really good with this Pixel design.

My household is more Google friendly! Mainly because I find it more reliable, but tbf… I never used an Amazon Alexa device. I still have the OG Google Home… planing on upgrading to the Nest Hub Max this Christmas. But we have plenty of Google ChromeCasts (cut the cord about 3 or 4 months ago) around the house.

Do you have both Google One subscription and Apple One?

I’ve got an iCloud sub for the family and a personal Google One sub. Will always have to be like that as wife/kids have iPhone/iPads.
I’m curious.. why not go with an Apple One subscription? You get Apple Music, Apple Arcade and AppleTV+ for a good deal. That’s personally what I went with, I hardly use Apple Arcade… but Apple Music and AppleTV+ I use often. And what’s the reason for Google One sub?

What’s that weird 3rd square camera lens for. Must be an extra for the big phone ;) .

I do like it without the skin better personally Too. But, the skin looked decent overall!

For Apple, I’m part of a family plan and it’s Apple One, comes with everything. For Google I have it all to myself and have Google One. But no Google Fi. For Amazon we have a big family Prime account.

Amazon Alexa is the voice assistant I use the most via an old Echo cylinder. She has loads of personality and understands me really well and is designed to work independently of other devices so she does more via voice command. She’s in the kitchen along with Google and is in the family room but we unplugged her after she just started talking to us randomly in there and it got really creepy. I’m pretty sure the tv kept triggering her. We have the same problem with Siri but Siri isn’t quite as “uncanny valley humanoid” about making conversation.

Siri doesn’t seem interested in working much without the phone. Siri is in the living room and family room via the little thing that looks like a roll of toilet paper God help me I can’t remember what it’s called. Arggh. I’m blanking on it. Oh yeah Home Pod.

I have a lot of the little Google “hamburger Pattie’s” that I got for free when I ordered past Pixels. I’m blanking on the proper name of those, too.

I have an orange one we use when we go on vacation. I have a sage green one I haven’t taken out of the box, and I have a white one in the kitchen. I’d love to put these things all over the house, but I value my privacy and so they stay out of bathrooms and bedrooms and offices.

We keep saying we are going to do home automation but if you ever see our house you will understand why we haven’t rushed it. It’s a beautiful place but it’s all a surface attractiveness because of shoddy workmanship and/or poor quality materials. We’ve had to replace almost all the plumbing. Our brickwork patio needs to be redone. Sigh. It’s always something around here.

It's a 48 MP telephoto lens ...I took only the camera skin off since I switch cases often but I'm going to apply the black skin to keep the black mode ...
