Really, the only thing I don't like about the Pixel 6 is the FPS. It's bad. Thankful for Smart Lock.
Are you having a lot of issues with the FPS? It's crazy how many people are having issues. I just don't understand it..

I have a 90% success rate even with a tempered glass screen protector. Once I understood how the FPS is designed to work on the Pixel 6, it's NO longer an issue for me.

1) It's a slow FPS, so keep your digit on the reader until it accepts it, is key to unlocking your phone at a high rate.

2) Screen protectors especially tempered glass unless they have been recommended by Google make the FPS even slower and less reliable.

It works realiably about 75% of the time IF I'm focused on good placement, etc.

It works less than 50% of the time if I'm just mindlessly wanting to unlock my phone. I've tried setting it up 4-5 times, and it just never seems to improve the experience.

Yes, I agree. I find keeping it longer makes it successful for me pretty much every time...

I know it can get frustrating but like stated above the key. I think it's to keep it longer but I can now place the finger on the spot without looking sometimes with success as well... We all agree. It could definitely get better that's for sure

It's definitely one of those YMMV things. When it works as I expect it to, it's great. But I just wish it worked well for me more consistently than it does. Everything else about the phone is extraordinary good.

My regular 6 FP sensor is pretty terrible. The pro worked great. It wasn’t as good as the old Pixels, but so much better than the regular 6. I know it’s the same sensor, so no clue why it worked so much better.

I`d say it works 90% of the time first time. Usually a problem when my hands are a bit dirty, which in my job is a lot of the time. Perhaps it has something to do with my fingerprint, because using my left thumb is pretty much spot on every time. Of course even if that was the case that would be no excuse because I've never had a problem with FPS on back of phone, or on my OnePlus 7t Pro.
Still really liking the 6 though. Find myself picking it up more often than my 13 Pro max

I hope they listen to the complaints and bring the rear one back, even though, to be honest, the in screen one works for me flawlessly. There seems to be too much variance in reliability among the customer base. I don't know how their face unlock worked in the Pixel 4XL and if it had a bad impact on battery life, but it may be nice to have it back if feasible.

However, supply chain issues likely played a huge role in the features we got. Apparently that played a role in not having a watch to offer this year. I'm disappointed about that.

My only beef with Pixel currently is the phone is too large and delicate to stuff into my pockets but doesn't offer a watch to complement it. The expanse of glass for the camera is just a bit much to worry about as compared to when I could and would stuff a similarly large iPhone 6/7/8 Plus into my back jeans pocket. And the curved glass front feels too vulnerable. So a watch for notifications would be a welcome supplement for when I don't have the phone on me. I don't want the watches that are currently available to pair with Android. They just can't surpass my Apple Watch. But that's okay for now. I'm not looking to dethrone iPhone just yet.

As things are, I can usually carry the iPhone XR, which is a fairly rugged model in a good case. I can rely on my Apple Watch series 7 even for texting when I don't want to carry a phone at all.

If we could get a similar team from Pixel, I think my husband and I both would at this point be willing to make Pixels our main phones in the future, if Google stays the course on quality. Medical emergencies being what they are in our family, though, we are always going to carry two separate lines and phones for the foreseeable future. But my husband has said with a wearable that could match the feature set and quality of the Apple Watch, he would be interested in switching to the Pixel 6 Pro as his main phone. I'm not ready to say the same yet, because I'm still so dependent on iMessage with the other parents I talk to and with the kids. But as an empty nester in a few years, I can see it.

In the future, I would like to see Google make a smaller but fully featured flagship option. But for my needs now, I'm definitely enjoying the 6 Pro exactly as it is because it's my best phablet for now.

I hope they put a FPS in the power button in future iterations. When I briefly had the Fold3 the power button sensor worked SO WELL. The fps in my 6 has been pretty good, especially since the last update. Key is, like others have stated, to hold finger until it unlocks. It is very sensitive to dry skin. One of my thumbs isn't as moisturized as the other and it is very noticeable how much better it works on the non dry one.

You are getting the FPS to work flawlessly ? Seriously ? You would be the only one. I am not trying to hate on the phone but that FPS is not a good user experience.

Yeah it’s a shock to me, too. I’ve always had trouble with fingerprint sensors. I couldn’t ever get Touch ID to work for me at all until the second generation. Samsung fps never worked well for me either. Neither the ultrasonic one or the capacitive one.

How about this wallpaper homescreen?
