I’ve been busy at work but I’ve watched a couple of video reviews so far. Everything looks great on both phones except for the fingerprint reader. Seems like it can be improved with software updates.

Watching now, Dave is one of my favs.

Don't want to bomb the thread and start the commotion but I really have to ask who finds these sample images as good looking images? This device cannot produce natural colors, it's full of digital sharpening, HDR is way too agressive as it kiills contrast, sometiimes it creates haze, it's affraid to produce rich blacks and it lights up the night scene like there are football field lights all over the place (it was a wow effect back in 2018 but by now night shots should be night shots)

Look at the STOP sign image, no digital camera should be making image like that in 2021. It's super bad.

Pixel 6 Pro Beat iPhone 13 pro max in photo no question ask... all review would agree

On the videos I’ve seen dunno if that’s the case. The gap is certainly smaller than maybe people expected.

Still waiting on the comparison to the s21 ultra

until you're that one guy in an iMessage group chat ***** up everyone's universe
😂. That’s why I literally have to keep my iPhone in my bag with me and switch SIM cards on the fly. I can guarantee you there’s maybe one or two of my personal contacts that have an Android device, everyone else is iPhone. I get looked at like I’m from a third world country with an Android device. Hell, even our work group chat (almost 30 of us) is nothing but iPhone.

Shipped / not shipped are kinda nebulous. I remember being worried I would get my 2 late, when their system switched to shipped the day it actually arrived.

For the 3 I believe they next day shipped it or some other magic.

Everything you’ve mentioned I’ve noticed. I’m just taking it all in and processing mentally how I feel about what I’m seeing. I won’t really honestly know until I see it for myself, day in, day out and compare the results to what I’m seeing in front of me and deciding if it’s preserving memories the way I want them preserved. I used to love to shoot with Fujifilm and Fuji cameras. The colors weren’t completely true to life but they made a pleasing image. It was a look.

In a lot of the comparisons with the iPhone I think the iPhone produces the image I would choose to go into a magazine article without extra editing.

But I’m also not putting all my eggs in the photography basket. I’m looking for an overall well rounded smart phone experience. My Pixel 2 had a crappy display that was stained pink but there was something about the whole experience of using it that kept me picking it up and using it long after I’d moved on to much better specced out phones.

Yay those are the kinds of photos I wanted to see! And I see that they didn’t mess up how Pixel cameras preserve light when it reflects off surfaces, like the carpet. iPhones used to flatten that detail out of images. Samsung often does that, too. iPhones are better now in preserving delicate details of light. I’m relieved to see that Pixels haven’t lost that quality. And what an adorable cat! I’m a crazy cat lady, so I’m glad to see cat pictures are purrfection!

Have you experienced any problems with overheating when taking video? Particularly with 4k 60. How’s the fingerprint scanner working for you?

Bummer about the speakers not being quite up there with iPhone’s. But then the price isn’t so…I am fine with that. I’m sure it’s fine for videos and that will suffice.

Overheating Camera - No issues from overheating. I did see in Dave2D's review that he did run into a problem for recording 4K 60 for like 10+ minutes (I think) but I haven't recorded that long with the camera yet. The video quality is decent - but iPhone 13 Pro shoots better video.

Fingerprint Reader - flawless and fast for me. In fact I have better experience with this fingerprint reader than I ever did with any TouchID iPhone. Not sure why some reviewers have had issues but it's pretty amazing for me.

That's good to hear bc I'm coming in with the negative thoughts on the scanner....I've seen some good reviews on noise reduction with video.. Any thoughts? Have you tested in any noisy area?

I haven’t noticed, but that could mean it’s doing it’s job lol. I’ll look out for that when I look through the clips I’ve recorded or need with the video features more.

Update: oh crap. It does reduce the noise on video in low light situations and it does a good job at it too!

@soulreaver99 Can you comment on audio during video recording? I'm coming from a Pixel 3 XL and the video quality is fine for my use. But audio is just terrible. It always pics up my voice or breathing or just general ambient noise way better than the subject of the video. It's ruined some otherwise adorable videos of my daughter.

I haven't seen too many comment on audio quality of videos. Curious what your impressions are for the Pixel 6 Pro.

Here's a video of me recording a video with the phone about 1.5 feet away from my face while talking. Not really a good scientific test as I'm indoors sitting in a chair and spinning around in a chair. Best I can do for now! Please feel free to check out the rest of my videos on the channel :)

It sounds good.

OMG, sorry totally off topic, I went to your channel and discovered the LG purifier you reviewed. I didn’t know such a thing existed. I need this for my nightstand. I need this for my PC in my home office. I’m not registered to comment on YT so just letting you know as a fellow allergy sufferer who owns cats, I appreciated your review of the LG.
