Damn, Apple is impressive.

Only 4,352mah battery and still crushed the competition. It makes you wonder what it would be if Apple put a 5,000mah in there.
Yes, Apple has really mastered the art of battery life with its A15 chip but let’s not forget iOS hasn’t had a serious revamp in a decade! 😂 My 13 Pro Max battery is just a beast.

Although, I’d personally take the 210 grams of the 6 Pro vs 240 grams of the 13 Pro Max!
With a 5000mAh battery Apple would have to provide a rucksack in the box just to carry it!

Seems most reviews are for the 6 Pro right now, and fewer for the regular 6. But I'm sure this week lots more will review the Pixel 6. But the few I've read on the regular Pixel 6, it seems to have better battery life than the 6 Pro.

Just kinda bummed the battery life on the Pixel 6 Pro per today's reviews, say it's good, not great, and certainly not iPhone 13 Pro Max amazing, which I wasn't expecting at all, the 13 PM battery life is out-of-this-world GREAT. But the 6 Pro seems average to good for battery life. Oh well...

But is the regular 6 much better on battery than the 6 Pro, or just a bit better?

I’m taking these iPhone and pixel camera comparisons with a huge grain of salt. The stills being compared here are all day time building shots or the same low light building shots.
Any camera will fare well in these scenarios IMO.
Real world camera usage is more important to me, not these lazy samples to pad videos out for tech reviewers as they walk around ‘the city’. They all do the same thing. “Here’s a vid of the front facing video camera.“ I don’t think I’ve recorded video of myself on a front facing camera… ever. “Here’s the selfie camera, here’s my Tesla”. So unimaginative.

Portrait mode, the facial blur removal, and magic erase are just some examples for me where this will beat out the competition based on how I use my phone camera. And that’s without the amazing stills I know this phone will take.

I understand why they compare, but I’d rather see some shots between previous Pixels or the S21 series.

imagine how much it would weigh! I mean my 13 PM is already a beast of a phone weight wise.
But I always take these benchmarks with a grain of salt. They do not emulate real world usage.
Everyone uses their phone differently with different settings and in different environments.
Having said al that my iPhone is always battery champ for me
Thank God Ive is gone. I’ll gladly take a thicker phone with a bigger battery. Check out the new MBP. We’d never got all that tech back if they made the laptop thinner.

13 Pro Max - 240g
6 Pro - 210g
S21 Ultra - 227g

Give me the battery life!

I have to give Apple credit, the 13 Pro Max has amazing battery life from all reviews I read.

But my 12 Pro Max is good, but not stellar battery life, just not 13 PM good.

Hope the Pixel 6 Pro at least gets 12 Pro Max type battery life.
From the reviews I’ve read, the battery life seems to be okay. I was hoping with Google’s new chip, they could work some magic like Apple does with theirs.

I just need it to last all day to be honest. I have my phones on some kind of charger most of the time anyway. I mean I change them overnight...when at my desk (work from home)...or in my truck using either Android Auto or Carplay.
So for me anyway...I prefer a lighter phone in my pocket.

As for the reviews, it looks like the overwhelming consensus on both phones is positive, so that's great to hear. Read something about the in-display fingerprint sensor being a bit finicky. If it's as good as the one was on my old OnePlus 7 Pro, then I'll be happy enough.

Roll on Thursday, can't wait to get the 6 Pro in my hands!

How good are the speakers? The pixel 5 ones were very average. I'm hoping that the 6 Pro rivals the latest iPhones and S21 Ultra for speaker performance!

Battery test of both Pixel 6 and 6 Pro vs IPhone 13 Pro Max and S21 Ultra.

Of those 3 flagships and the regular Pixel 6, the 6 Pro does the worst in battery life. Ugh. Apple did some voodoo magic on the 13 Pro Max, it gets outrageously great battery life.

I'm a bit bummed the 6 Pro is getting just ok battery life, with a whopping 5,000mAh battery, I thought it'd get something like the Pixel 5a battery life, but it's not even close.

The iPhone 13 Pro speakers are louder and punchier.

The Pixel 6 Pro, IMO holds it's own pretty well but to me it's obvious the iPhone has the advantage.

Great question!

I think one thing that can’t be measured by any benchmarks. Is user experience. It is always something that draws me to the Pixel

The Pixel is more than the sum of it parts but a great overall user experience

“Pixel 6 Pro is easily the best Android phone, possibly even phone, on the market right now. It's blazing fast, good battery, best cameras, good video recording, best software, best display, and all around best experience. I truly cant rave enough about this phone. It's that good.”

The common theme amongst all the reviews are that the Pixel 6/6 Pro cameras are not that much different from the Pixel 5. Which is surprising given the new sensors and lenses.

until you're that one guy in an iMessage group chat ***** up everyone's universe

I think @jamezr has hit the nail on the head tbh.
It's the 'experience' with Pixels.
There really is nothing quite like it and Material You looks to enhance that further.

The more reviews I've watched, the more I'm glad I've ended up with the Pro.
I love the 6 design, but the software zoom is not great whereas the Pro's telephoto seems decent up to about 8-10x.

Also, haptics are SO important to me. And the motor is closer to hand position on the Pro which apparnetly makes for better feedback.

I too am quite surprised at the camera not being the big step up expected. Perhaps I hyped it too much in my own mind, but I did expect more glowing feedback. The ultrawide also looks a bit pants, but I never take ultrawide shots so doesn't bother me.

Real life battery test plus the night video shooting looks incredible here!

I’m not happy to hear the camera just shut off on him recording 4k 60 for an extremely short clip due to overheating. I’ve never had an iPhone overheat while recording videos or taking photos. They can get hot but don’t shut completely off. I’d be furious if I lost an important moment due to this. It’s definitely something I’ll test for myself. Im hoping it’s just a problem with his phone. We shall see.
