Loving having a Pixel again. And now it has a 6.7" screen, there's no possible reason to return it. Unless it blows up in the middle of the night, my 12 Pro Max will be wiped and sold tomorrow.

Feels great in the hand and love using it. Haptics are really good. Not only a new phone, switching back to Android after a year on iOS helps give that new upgrade feeling. Phone feels smooth and it's great having a proper SwiftKey keyboard again after the bodge job you get on iOS!

Only had a quick go with the camera but can't see any problems there. It's wrong to assume it would blow everything else away, no matter how much it was hyped up. I'm sure software updates will tweak things. If you still can't see that all the top phones have great cameras, that's on you. Stop saying x is miles better than x, it's personal preference for millionth time!

If you're on the fence about the Pro, just try it for yourself. Assuming you can get one!

Really difficult to get a good picture to show the Google frosty case, but I really like it. Now to impatiently wait for the Pixel stand 2 to go live.

Looks good!
That's what I ordered for myself.

Amazing example

Alright I call bovine poo, who flies a drone through that many trees and doesn’t end up with the drone IN the tree! He’s really good at piloting that thing. I’ve got a friend who is pretty much like Charlie Brown trying to fly a kite. If there is a tree anywhere in the vicinity, he’s going to crash his drone into it. I really don’t know how he can afford to stay in that hobby.

Looks like he works or is associating with a drone flying school. I still wouldn't attach my new phone and then fly over a lake... Especially since he said the grip wasn't the best.

Agree on MKBHD. He used to be one of my favorite reviewers but he's fallen way down the list for me the last couple years. Mrwhosetheboss is the same. Actually, when watching him, I get the feeling that he's trying to be like MKBHD, from his mannerisms to the way he talks.

My go to video reviewers:
1. Flossy Carter. Been my favorite for a long time. Entertaining. Puts the device thorough its paces before rushing to get a review out as soon as the embargo lifts. Very thorough review. Did I mention entertaining? Only bad thing is it may take me 2 to 3 days to get through his loooong but very thorough review 😂

2. Mr. Mobile/Michael Fisher. Mostly for Android reviews. He's not really an Apple guy. But like Flossy, his reviews are very thorough and don't just focus on the camera.

3. SuperSaf. He can be annoying to me at times but his reviews and camera comparisons are good.

4. Danny Winget. Camera isn't my top focus on the phone, but I love his camera reviews and comparisons.

Those are the 4 I usually look forward to. Way down the line behind them would be MKBHD, Mrwhosetheboss, The Verge/Dieter Bohn
I’ve enjoyed UrAverageConsumer (hope I spelled that right). He does a lot of “day in the life of” videos where he takes the phones out and shows us highlights of what it’s like to actually use one on a day trip out. You get an idea for the battery and why is there a bagel on my floor …sorry there’s a bagel on my living room floor. I lost my train of thought. My cat…

I like Flossy's no BS cut to the chase type review. No fluff, no waste of time fancy schmancy garbage, just tell me, is this phone good or not? Does the battery rock or suck Floss?

The Floss-factor should be labeled on each phone you purchase LOL

Canoopsy seems too artsy and pretty boyish, just pleasing fluff and no substance, all style and no punch. I want a solid review, not an art film.
Lol we disagree here. You can't say 'no waste of time' and 'just tell me if this phone is good or not' when Flossy takes an hour to tell you. ?.

It's all a bit too low budget for me. But I guess that's his appeal to people who like his approach.

And let's not hate on Canoopsy for being a good looking boy! He can't help that haha.

I do agree on that part, Flossy's reviews at 45min to 1 hour long are way too much, I just skip around and only watch maybe 10 minutes worth myself to get his point.

And no comment on Canoopsy's look LOL

Actually Marques's video quality and intros are top notch, really enjoy his stuff and music, it's just that lately he's all camera guy and sort of glosses over stuff I wish he spent more time on.

I like these YouTuber's as well;

Anyone else got issues with the weather widget ? When I click on it it tells me 'unable to show weather information for this location'.. I'm on the verge of wiping and starting / setting up again.

The amount of confirmation bias this year with buying decisions is sad. It’s almost as if some people were waiting to hear one “bad” thing about the Pixel phones to solidify their reason for not buying it.

Just triflant..

Yeah, it wasn’t the hype but the incessant whining is at an all time high with this phone. Sure a lot these issues can hopefully be addressed through a software update.

At the end of day, its not that serious anyway. Buy the phone and move on with your life. Buy the phone and be happy.

My regular 6 in seafoam just shipped. Unfortunately it’s coming fedex, which always gets delayed in the remote area I live. But, it’s en route!
I HATE FedEX, The term "Relax it's FedEX" was always viewed as an insult to me.

Canon CPS (Professional services) uses them too, They continually claim I am not home, and delay delivery when I A - Have a video doorbell and no they didn't stop by, and B - Have a video camera on my garage and other door and again "no they didn't".

Frustrating and I am almost to the point where I will just ask for them to hold at the sorting facility, and I will just pick up myself at the end of day.

I kind of stopped watching tech reviews a while back occasionally I'll watch one just to look. I mean there seems to be a few good eggs out there but most anymore are just click through, just something to bring in the click revenue. Really irked me some where buying phones, reviewing them and just returning afterwards. IMHO that's shady. Might see what Lisa has to say, not sure I'd watch a floss, haven't in a while (think he pretty on the up and up, not sure he is on anyone's payroll except viewers). Probably best reviews I surmise are going to be right here in this thread ?

A quick note about the FPS. I'm finding it generally pretty good. The odd time I've had to press harder but nothing like the frustration I sometimes had with the S10+ when they first came out.

Although nothing beats Face ID in my opinion. Really not sure how Google can bring back the proper secure Face Unlock unless underscreen camera tech becomes a genuine reality. Surely they didn't just scrap project Soli?!

iPhone packed ready to be sent off tomorrow. Which for once I'm amazed phone recycle places are offering more than what I can get privately.

Fully charged it tonight and will see what the battery is like tomorrow. But I don't expect any problems, no previous Pixel has been bad enough to cause issues for me.

Day One software update for the Pixel 6/Pro
In a brief forum post this afternoon, Google confirms that a day-one update will be made available to Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones as they’re unboxed. These updates ensure that all of the Pixel’s advertised features, such as Magic Eraser and others, work properly.
This is a very good thing!

After watching reviews I still don't know which device I want but I think I'm going to go with the Pro as I'm looking more for a mini-tablet since I've already got a 13 mini and the Pro is larger.

Anyone with a Verizon Pixel 6 or 6 pro yet? I'm just curious if the bootloader on the Verizon models are locked? In past Pixel models they were but I am asking because I think eventually I'll want to check out GrapheneOS or CalyxOS and the bootloader needs to be unlocked from my understanding. Best Buy still has the Verizon 6 Pro models available whereas the unlocked models are completely sold out.
