This combo is nice.
The band selection is pretty good for a first gen attempt. Hopefully they’re not difficult to get in a few months time.

Not going to lie, I am kinda tempted by the Pixel 7 Pro. I switch to iPhone last year rather than upgrade to the Pixel 6 Pro (after being all android since i started using smartphones).

I'll probably still be waiting for the Pixel 8 Pro (just to be able to compare it with whatever apple does with the iPhone 15 Ultra). But I REALLY miss the Pixel camera (iPhone camera kinda sucks). And I miss having first party support for google services.

But iPhone has spoiled me on fantastic hardware. Best screen, best speakers, best battery life. Google needs to at least compete in these areas to win me back.

Still so far what I'm seeing from the Pixel 7 Pro has me excited. Hoping the reviews are positive this year 🤞.

No freebie offers here in Ireland. No trade-ins. Makes what would have been an instant pre-order to a considered one. Think I'll wait for reviews given no pre-order bonuses.

Beautiful. People are overreacting on the bezels. Everyone who has seen it in irl says it looks stunning. Also every smartwatch has thick bezels, Google on the other hand has chosen to make the sides from glass instead of metal. I would buy it if I needed a new smartwatch. But I don't. I already have the Skagen so I don't see the need on replacing it yet now.

And here I was wondering why the Pixel 6 thread sounded like crickets. I didn’t even think to check for a new pixel 7/ 7 pro thread on macrumors lol.

I wasn’t going to entertain the new pixel 7 series at first due to android 13 making my 6 pro run stellar but with the trade ins…

Best Buy has some of the best trade in values outside of the Google store.

iPhone 12 Pro 256gb $710

Pixel 6 pro 128gb $545

Plus the $200 gift card credit

Sheesh!

Almost too good to pass up

Also can we talk about how much more polished this release seems to be (so far).

All 3 colorways of the 7 Pro are available in ALL 3 storage sizes. Not just on Google's own store but on 3rd party sites (best buy) as well. That's kind of a big deal for Google.

Q. The Pixel 7 Pro from Google's specs page has a it listed as a 90 Hz display. Didn't the 6 Pro have a 120hz ?

Full-screen 6.7-inch (170 mm)3 display
19.5:9 aspect ratio
QHD+ (1440 x 3120) LTPO OLED at 512 PPI
Smooth Display (up to 90 Hz)

I haven't seen this step backwards mentioned anywhere, so wondering if I had only imagined the 6 Pro having 120 Hz.

Nope just checked 6 Pro
QHD+
Quad High Definition
LTPO
Smooth Display
up to 120 Hz

I'd be interested in getting the 7 with the flat screen.
Surprised Google will give me $300 trade in on my Pixel 4a. Think that's a no brainer.....even though I have to pay in full up front.
Samsung didn't do that on my tablet trade in.

USA people who pre-ordered from Google, what are you going to get with your $200 credit? I'm probably going to try out the buds pro. Tempted to use it towards a watch too but I feel there's a better chance I'd like the buds pro.

Yeah, I really love my 4a but $300 trade in on a phone that cost me $449 is a no brainer.

How much time do you have to use the $200? Is it something you could use towards next years phones?

Pro again. Although the usability and ergonomics of the 7 sound more tempting this time around, the quality/ premium(ness) still appears a leg down.

Another reason for the 7 for me.
I'm torn between colors,......Snow and Lemongrass.....even though it will get a case.

I thought the Pixel 6 had a premium feel and i’m sure the Pixel 7 will as well. Last year I bought the regular 6 and with the glass back it looked and felt great. I still have it as I love the Kinda Coral color combo.

This year I went with the Pro because of the 120 Hz screen and the Hazel + Gold trim. I also love huge phones because the screen content is easier for me to see.

Someone may have mentioned the curved glass and while it’s not a totally flat screen, the curved edges are not extreme as they were last year. This year it’s more subtle in the curvature.
