I thought the Pixel 6 had a premium feel and i’m sure the Pixel 7 will as well. Last year I bought the regular 6 and with the glass back it looked and felt great. I still have it as I love the Kinda Coral color combo.

This year I went with the Pro because of the 120 Hz screen and the Hazel + Gold trim. I also love huge phones because the screen content is easier for me to see.

Someone may have mentioned the curved glass and while it’s not a totally flat screen, the curved edges are not extreme as they were last year. This year it’s more subtle in the curvature.

I’d even argue the 6 non pro looks more premium then the 7 non pro. I don’t know..maybe it’s the aluminum camera bar on the 7 that makes its look more muted and tbh..of lesser quality but this is subjective.I still have yet to see the phones in person.

As for the pro models, I was sold on the hazel and gold combo based off the official photos but in real life, the camera bar seems heavy on the shininess’s. All design approach of course which makes the 6 and 7 series phones stand out more compared to 5, 4, 3 and 2 series pixels. I think I’ll pivot to Obsidian this year though.

Why not buy a clear case with a matte finish from Ringke or an official Google case? I suspect all three combos will show off a shiny camera bar. I’m not too bothered by it. The green plus gold accent looks really nice.

I’ve gone with Pro despite preferring smaller phones. I’m currently using a 14 Pro Max and when I pick up my 6 Pro after using this iPhone it feels light, ergonomically friendly and very easy to use with one hand. Despite being big. It’s much thinner and the screen isn’t anywhere near as wide.

I can’t pass up a telephoto lens. Much prefer it to an ultra wide, and I’m looking forward to seeing if their claims about zoom photography this year are as good as they look.
Plus, the Hazel colour is best of all this year IMO. :D

My thoughts exactly on how I feel about my 6 pro versus my iPhone 14 pro max (and previously 13 pro max). Google industrial design is some of the best imo. They design for ergonomics very well. Something that feels lost on IPhone these days. Miss the 11 pro.

I could but maybe I’m just hung up on the Hazel + gold color way. I wish the side rails weren’t so shiny and gold but love the sage green-like color. Reminiscent of the pixel 5 sage green. I just need to see the phones in person.

The AI when it comes to zoom from 2x, 5x and 10x is very impressive. Google out here improving True Tone while others still make no effort in that area

This is very deceiving on google's part, they said 5 of pixel updates but they didn't mean 5 years of android updates, check this out :/

Looks like all of the woven Watch bands are already out of stock 😢. I really wanted that yellow one!
Hopefully they come back in. I can see that on the Fitbit site they have Pixel Watch bands. Showing as releasing mid October so maybe I could nab one there.

Yeah it’s poorly worded on their website

On purpose because we make no distinction between Upgrade and Update anymore. Minor revisions are updates while major releases are upgrades. Remember Adobe Creative Suite upgrades from lets say CS5 to CS6? That's an upgrade but security or bug fix was an update.

7 pro 128GB ordered in snow. Shame that you can’t choose which gift to get. Much rather have the buds pro than pixel Watch as having Apple Watch ultra makes the pixel Watch a waste for me

Happy for those getting the 7 lineup and interested to see how these phones are. But it’s a definite no for me. At the very least I wanted to see Google address the common problems with the 6 lineup and they’ve cut corners again. Still using a crappy optic FP sensor instead of ultrasonic. And they included face unlock but it’s such a half assed effort it can’t even be used for authentication other than phone unlock.

USA people who pre-ordered from Google, what are you going to get with your $200 credit? I'm probably going to try out the buds pro. Tempted to use it towards a watch too but I feel there's a better chance I'd like the buds pro.
I'm only getting $100 as I'm getting the non-Pro. Using that to offset some of the cost of the Pixel Buds Pro. I need new earbuds anyway. I also have the watch ordered.

I HAD pre-ordered the phone through Fi, but I can get a MUCH better deal through the Google store - an additional $200+ on my Pixel 4a 5G trade-in plus the $100 in Google store credit totally offsets the cost of the Pixel Buds.

The Fi shop was offering $100 off the phone and only $100 for the trade-in, Google Store is offering $325 for the trade-in making for a net savings of around $225 to order from the main store. Needless to say, my Fi order was cancelled and I placed a new order on the main store.

The two new colors, Hazel and lemongrass are pretty nifty, and something I like about Pixel phones, going funky.

Agreed. When an iPhone has a bright or weird color, it just doesn’t look right because they are suck professional looking devices. Like when you see a yellow BMW, I just doesn’t fit. But Pixel devices are made to look less mainstream and have more personality.

Side note, panda Pixel 4 XL is still my favorite looking phone of all time.

I think the problem that iPhones have is that they are made to look more like elegant jewelry so a funky color would look out of place. However a Hazel colored iPhone with gold trim, would not look out of place.

Anyone know if they changed the modem in the 7 series? I haven't been able to find anything definitive on it. All the specs sheets just give general Connectivity specs.

EDIT: So, per some T-Mobile floor models, the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are using the new Samsung Exynos 5300 modem. Pixel 6 and 6 Pro used the Exynos 5123. The 5300 is a new modem and no other phone uses it. Good luck to all that pre-ordered, we're all counting on you :)

I wasn't gonna upgrade, Lord knows I don't need to. But.....

$600 trade in for my P6P AND $200 credit from google store AND another $100 credit with my Google One membership.

Plus, that Obsidian just looks sick to me. Pretty hard to pass up. 256GB Pixel 7 Pro preordered. I think I'm set for a while. Holding that S22 Ultra in my desk drawer till the S23 series is released. Hopefully it won't get a bulging battery from storing it so long without using 😂 (IYKYK)
