Dear Developer, please, for the sake of God, do NOT bloat your wonderful weather app with radars and such. Those things cause apps to lag so bad, they become unusable. Keep it Apple-style AMAP!

To all the radar fiends and maniacs out there: listen, unless y'all are nutty meteorologists, you do not need to know whether it's going to rain in the next 13 minutes, 45 seconds, 29 milliseconds, or whether there is going to be a big black cloud over your roof in the next hour. Ever wondered why there has never been a four-five-star weather app? Exactly! :rolleyes:

You can relax my friend. We have over a years worth of experience in another weather app (Pocket Weather AU) that has been in the Australian top 100 since it launched over a year ago. Last time I checked it was rated 4.5 stars.

We do radar the right way, eg: it isn't running in the background or on a tab, it's a simple button on the forecast that you click if you want to see it. If you don't you don't have to worry, it's not going to do anything to the app as it is currently.
Here's what it looks like in the Australian version:

LOL, that's funny as heck. Kanye is a freakin idiot.

Great app btw, purchased.

Fantastic!! I've always wanted a badge on the weather app or for it to change on the homescreen.

really? Guessing you don't live in a tornado prone area? Or a hurricane zone? Or both?

Because hell on earth is walking out of the bathroom and finding out yours is the only house standing in the area after a tornado that hit during a severe storm with a warning that popped up MINUTES before the freight train sound hit.

Do not EVER proceed to tell me that I don't need to know what is happening 10 minutes in the future when you aren't the one trying to assure a child that it is not going to be another run to the bathroom to revisit that hell.

For me, a weather app is useless without working ANIMATED radar. I need to see the trends. Period.

Alright, you have a point there. :)

Alright, you have a point there. :)

Yeah, no offense PBF, but if they do radar correctly (like they've done the rest of the app), it's not a worry about lag for those who don't need up to the minute info.

Like I mentioned, I'm outdoors 95% of the time, and with over $15k of camera gear/electronics on me, I like to at least know I have 10-15 minutes left before it needs to be all packed up.

Unfortunately, the other two popular weather apps get nailed in reviews about how they implemented radar (and is the reason I've not bought them).

All MMU would have to do is only load radar once you've tapped the RADAR label, and then add in a 'animate' button to start loading the history to solve the problem you don't want to see.

Cheers! :)

There's also a lot of trivial uses for the radar as well: like simply wanting to know the best time to leave the office for a walk, or jog. Sure getting wet is no big deal, but knowledge is power. Either way I think it's a nice thing to have for those that need it.

We already have the framework for radar animations, and there's no problems with it's performance on even older iPhones (you can even play music in the background without it stuttering). We had some problems with this in the early days as well, it's not easy code to write if you want to do it well.

Anyway one thing I should say: Pocket Weather World with Push is now #6 in the US. We largely have you guys to thank for that, so a big thanks to all of you! We haven't sold anywhere near the number we did when we launched our original app in Australia, but we're pumped that we even got into the top 10 in the weather section! :D

I was going to wait for the radar.... but i'm pretty sure you are going to come thru for me, so i'll buy it now. Don't fail me ok? LOL!!

The fact that you have come back and stayed in the thread is huge to me, kudos!!

Off to shop :D

I have no doubt that once PWWwP :D gets to v1.1, it may make it to the top.

One thing I've noticed, is if you use the App Store search on the iPhone, it doesn't come up in popular keyword searches (i.e. weather), you have to type a good bit of the title. Fixing that may help the rise to the top.

Awesome weather app!

Just an idea for the badge, no idea how feasible it is, but a number that indicates what the weather forecast will be for the next day.

Say something like:
1 = Sunny
2 = Partly Cloudy
3 = Cloudy
4 = Scattered Showers
5 = Moderate Rain
6 = Heavy Rain
7 = Stormy

etc etc

Anyways, this app has set a new standard. I can totally get what all the rave reviews were all about.

Just purchased the app, and very happy with it so far!

Question to anyone that will though. Am I missing something, or do the skins actually contain different functions as well? What I mean is, I LIKE the blue skin, but it does not have the "i" button for the current conditions and sunrise\sunset info that the "black" skin does?

Other than that, loving it, well worth the money, and looking forward to the next udpate, and radar. :)

OK, I admit, I'm an idiot, LOL. Just playing around with it some more, and didn't realize the info is simply displayed different, not that it is not there....doh!

Anyway, once again, fantastic app!

The blue screen has that info already on the screen so it does not need the "i" button.

Love this apps. Very nice.

Now to get minus temperatures that would be cool.

Maybe as suggested before putting a 77 infront, or maybe apple will allow a"-" sign, or even having an option to turn on 77 for minus temperatures.

Just bought it as of 10 minutes ago, and I've gotta say, one of the best weather apps I've tried, even without the radar.

I absolutely love the current temp as a badge. The black skin is my favorite of all, while high visibility is my least.

One tiny graphical bug/glitch is in the settings. When you select a tab to go into, the blue highlight is a rectangle, rather than having curved corners.

Very little bad I can say about this app; I just want more features lol.

Keep up the great work!

One other little request....

The horizontal to vertical layout activation/transition is too sensitive IMO. Not much tilt from horizontal makes it jump back to vertical.

Safari isn't nearly (or it doesn't seem) as sensitive and jumpy.

Thanks! :)

Little UI idea: it would be nice if there were different nighttime icons for the weather. Like a moon instead of a sun

This is by far the best weather app.

The only thing I miss from TWC is the % chance of rain in the forecast. Have you considered adding % chance for days it shows the rain icon? This number was always useful for TWC because the forecast icon shows rain for I think only only 30% chance.

I was just wondering which app will be best for me to get.
I live in Australia, so naturally Pocket Weather Aus seems like the right choice, but this app with the push notifications looks awesome.

Will the aussie one be getting notifications?

Suggestion: would it not be more logical to tag Min and Max as Highs and Lows or Day and Night? If you'd rather leave it as Min and Max, then at least, switch it around: Max and Min.

I wonder how many of these needed UI adjustments will be made with 1.1

Did you guys find a solution for tempeture below 0? I live in Canada and winter is coming soon and would love to have notification this winter...
Hope you guys find a solution soon...the app looks great so far...

This was bugging me too, then i wondered if it was a Country thing? We here in the states are used to seeing "max/min". But really, here in FL we have our min early in the morning, so it really is the min for the day, then we go max.

But i'm guessing that down under, min/max is the norm.
