Another quick thought, an affordable tablet would be another device with the halo effect, integration with the Mac would be one of the selling points, further driving the marketshare of OSX. Everyone seems to dismiss it because they won't be running 3D modeling software or Final Cut, I don't think that would be the intent.
What if the price was subsidized by ATT with a 3g/edge network connection and a monthly fee? Access to the cloud could help make up for shortcomings in local storage.

I'd be interested if it was at a Bargain price but knowing apple it'll be the same price as all there MacBooks so i'd have to wait for 5 paychecks to be able to almost afford it.

Combine with a digitizing pen and the natural-media Painter X and you'd have a wonderful combination.

I really don't want a tablet at all. I like my keyboard and I like my mouse. I have no reason to draw on my computer.

if HP is doing this already, and makes a fairly decent tablet laptop... APPLE will murder it, with multi touch

edit: tablet PCs havent cought on yet, they arent the most practical devices....yet. there isnt a big "NEED" for a tablet, unless ur an artist, for drawing purposes. but i bet by 2015 most computers will be touch screen.

I have hopped aboard many a mac bandwagon over the years. I plan to hop the tablet one without hesitation.
