Sucks they didnt announce the iPad Mini 7 at the Glow event. I was waiting for it with baited breath after watching all the boring iPhone and AI stuff.

I guessed they wouldn’t after they said they would be talking about AirPods at the beginning, without mention of iPad.

Tired of waiting for a new iPad mini 7, which may not come. So today I ordered an iPad Air m2. Hopefully I won't regret it.
Imagine the next iPad mini having an M4 chip, faceID, 120 hz refresh rate, camera button, action button, Magsafe and 3 cameras.

Although it's perfectly possible that it only gets new colors like the AirPods Max 😵‍💫

Exactly, I was really hoping Tim would go "and there's one more thing..."

Yeah, I audibly groaned when he failed to mention iPad mini

Throw in a 9" folding screen; device runs iOS when closed & iPadOS when opened, Apple Pencil Pro support on either screen; basically the outside is an iPhone Pro Max, and the inside is an iPad mini Pro...

Give it Stage Manager and allow it to use an external monitor as a secondary display; who knows, maybe even allow two external displays alongside the large internal iPad mini Pro folding display...

I would have a Pencil Pro, a Watch Ultra 2, and a set of AirPod Pro 2 earbuds paired with it; and when I plop down on the couch, a keyboard/mouse/display would be on a swing-out arm, and a large screen TV, both would be running from the folding iPad mini Pro...

I had the Mini. Liked it a lot. But the lack of a 120 hz refresh rate just destroyed it for me. I couldn’t continue using it for that reason. I really noticed it next to my Apple devices running 120 hz refresh rates.

Apple under Tim Cook sucks. Too many models under each product category and it holds them back. Just make the best device you know how and drop the Pro nonsense.

Here we are, the Mini is just forgotten about and held back by stupid marketing and a framework setup by Cook.

The most likely scenario is that the iPad mini will remain a mid-range device, and the pro version will just be the iPhone fold with promotion, stage manager (even a future A chip could support that), pencil support on the inside display, and even quad speakers. Will that device satisfy those who want an iPad mini pro? Mostly not, as it will cost $2000+ and some will be skeptical about the durability of folding devices, although I am convinced that Apple is waiting precisely to make sure that their first folding iPhone will be extremely durable.
