Other Possible to Buy Phone at Store no Pre-Order?

Same in metro Boston, and there is availability today and tomorrow for 14 and 14Pro at nearly every store (with variations depending on color, storage, etc.). If you needed one today, you might have to drive 40 minutes or so but you could definitely get it today, probably in the color and storage you actually preferred.
I noticed that in Boston every single model at almost every size is available for home delivery for just two hours this morning
Depends on staff but if they’re super busy they might make you come back tomorrow.
They didn’t let you just take one home?
I am going on a family trip today and i am not available after 10am. The earliest pick up available is 2:15pm…🤣
I have T-Mobile and bought 2 iPhone pro's for pickup tomorrow at the Apple store - just went over to the AT&T store by my house and talked to them about switching. They're willing to give me $600 and $800 more respectively for my trade-in's than Apple.
Is there any catch to the Credits option besides the need to spread them out over 36 months and lose them if I pay the phone off early or leave AT&T?
I live by the adage, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is...but this seems okay. What could I be missing on the discount on the phone?

You don't really lose much, except you're stuck with AT&T for 3 years. They have pretty mediocre coverage around my house/neighborhood. 5G+ coverage has been okay, better on long drives around the southeastern US actually.
Also, there's a $55 restocking fee if you want to return the phones - a nice thing about Apple's 14-day return period is there's no fee.
All major Dallas stores have carrier-free models of the 14 Pro available for pickup today/tomorrow - all colors/storage. I'm guessing tomorrow is because there just aren't any more slots available today. In my unscientific testing, this is trending just like the previous 3 iPhone releases as far as launch day stock.
I don't think it is sold out for today. when it went live, all phones were only available to pick up tomorrow here in Dallas. I think Apple wants to limit in-store traffic today.
The above post makes sense... they might not have any open slot for appointment today due to Pre-order pickup.
This was a breeze this year thank god I canceled my preorder as soon as I walked out the mall

My T-Mobile service near my house is non-existent, I literally had to get one of their boosters for inside my house to have any service. Our community Facebook page says AT&T is better, so that's good to know. Unfortunately I have a grandfathered T-Mobile plan of unlimited everything for $100 for 2 lines. It will jump to $180 or so a month for 2 lines unlimited on AT&T. But I kind of see new phones and $80 increase a month as okay for actually having service. haha.
I see being with AT&T for 3 years as very likely and I tend to only want to upgrade our phones every 3 years anyway.

Yeah I think they're generally always better than Apple's offers because they're locking you into a contract.
Good for you having good AT&T coverage. That's important enough to me that I'd switch if I was in the market! I'd probably pick Verizon because we've got a house full of kids and Apple Music/Disney+ included in my (extortionately expensive) plan is enticing, but to each their own.
Walked into the mall about 730am was about 20 to 30 people in line Apple specialit’s came over asked me what device I wanted made the reservation and told me I didn’t have to wait I could just come back at 1245 but I’m going back sooner than that

Could not find local Apple store (6 near me) with 14 blue 128GB in stock for today (all were Saturday and Sunday pickups).
However, on my mobile app, I was able to find delivery today via COURIER for $9 extra.
Chose that - will see if it get delivered to my workplace today!
Does this mean that for $9 extra, Apple Store has them set aside for those that want it TODAY ?
