how did your replacement pan out?

Much happier. There are definitely still some things about Android that don't "translate" well over to the tablet experience, e.g., the different app sizes are more bothersome on a larger screen. I also just don't need so many screens -- the device is for leisure so I simply don't have as urgent of a need to glance at information.

Luckily, Nova launcher solves many of these little "quirks."

But in terms of form and function, I'm getting used to the smaller device, and I'm happier typing (or swiping!) emails/messages (I love Hangouts on the N7), happier browsing, happier playing games, etc., than I ever was on the iPad 3 (which I sold).

I think I joined the Android tablet world at a good time. Any earlier, I don't think I would've enjoyed it.

You should use Apktool/APK Manager, decompile Flipboard, and then find the widget images, and replace the Flipboard logo and refresh button with transparent PNGs. It'd look good. :) There's some tutorials on XDA to do it. I did it in the past before.
I don't think I'd care to do that, just for to accomplish that. I don't mind the Flipboard logo, and I actually use the refresh button at times.

I traded my Galaxy S4 in for an Oppo Find 5. Beautiful phone! Feels amazing in the hand. Steel Frame and Polycarbonate, not the cutting edge of Smartphones but it has a decent 13MP Camera, an S4 Pro, Adreno 320 and 2GB of RAM. Plus a gorgeous IPS 5 inch 1920x1080 screen.

Bought it for less than I sold my S4 too! Tried to install Cyanogenmod but it wouldn't take, so I'm running their stock ROM with Nova Launcher. They issue OTA updates every 2 weeks with new features that you can suggest on their forums, and bug fixes. Im running their beta "Color ROM" which is a big redesign of their OS kind of like iOS 7 is to iPhone.

What version of Android does it come with? Does it work with US GSM carriers?

It ships with Android 4.1.1 however the Forums are saying a 4.2.2 update is planned for the end of August.

It should work on American GSM Networks. This phone does not have LTE though, you'd have to be content with HSDPA+

If you're considering switching, it depends on why you like your GS4. The Snapdragon600 in the S4 is faster than the S4 Pro, the camera in the S4 mostly produces better images. And the S4 has LTE. I sold my S4 and got almost as much money as the Find cost unlocked.

No worries, just a suggestion.
No problem. I think it was a great suggestion, I just don't like putting forth that sort of effort into my homescreen lol. Though I may use one from colorscreen's site again.

What's that little droid on that second icon by the way?

I can't really delve into that too much.
