If the API is opened, I just hope third parties don't immediately resort to more stupid Rolex ripoffs like I see in every other Android Wear user photo.

That's the point I mentioned of why Apple may be the sole provider of watch faces. Yes that was an amazing feature about Android Wear is the ability of custom watch faces but came with photoshoped Omega, Rolex..etc watch faces.

Thanks, after a bit of adjustment I got this to work.

I mentioned earlier how Apple may add the ability for custom backgrounds not subject to copying Omega, Rolex faces. I made some possible watch possibilities Apple may add. The Watch Edition background & faces are exclusive.

Those look nice in theory, but the problem with all of them is that they ignore the black bezel around the screen. You can't have edge to edge color.

Of course. This is just an idea of a background color option Apple could implement in replacement to the black.

Some of these are absolutely amazing, I love the retro video games and the click wheel on the iPod. I keep going back to the Modular face though because of the customization. I am really hoping that this much talked about March Apple Watch event brings us some news on an updated iOS that might give more faces and better customization! Can't wait!

I'm finding that occasionally, when using a custom image with the watch face which just displays the time and date, when the watch awakes, ONLY the time will show? There is no date and no image?! If the watch display then turns off and then back on a few seconds later, the image and date will return?!?!

Perhaps this is the OS just glitching?!

Attached is my current watch face. It is an app I wrote called Hermez. It will never get into the App Store and I'll not try to get it there.

I might put the swift files on GitHub with instructions on how to build.

I made an account on this website specifically so I could bed you to release this. I have been searching everywhere in the Internet land for you. **** I would even pay a few dollars.

I'm doing some cleanups (removing lawyer bait) and dealing with life. Here is a Hermes free screenshot of what it will look like when released (Though I might do some more work on the date - top left)

I appreciate the work, but this is helping me see how awkward it can be to run complications in the corners of a rectangular watch face. I think it looks better as it comes from Apple, which is without those complications.

[edit] No, wait -- you're not changing the face itself, right? Is this an app which somehow displays the date instead of its name, and the AW's default time display remains in the upper right? Kind of like how the time is in the corner of this screenshot:

Morning all,
To be honest, I'm too lazy to set up a github account. So here is the code (attached zip).

1. Open a terminal and create a directory
2. Copy the downloaded tarball to the directory
3. Extract the tarball: unzip Hermez.zip
4. run the prepare.sh script to set a new bundle identifier (I've found issues when self signing apps with other people's identifier)
5. open the project file in Xcode 7.1 or above
6. attach your iPhone and select it as the target for the Hermez app
7. run the app, this will build and sign the app (google on how to fix issues) and then install on the watch
8. once you get the app running on the phone, the watch app should be available to install on your watch. If you haven't got you phone to automatically install watch apps, go to the watch setup app on your phone and install the Hermez app
9. when installed on your watch, you should be able to launch it.
10. In your watch settings, set the action for raise on wrist to "last opened app" (or something like that)

Anyway, if you want a different watch face, just change the bg-default@2x.jpg in the Hermez\ Watchkit\ App directory with the one you prefer.

Enjoy

EDIT: I thought I would share a new background for the app.
