I find these type of posts annoying. Fed up? I like it more today than I did when I got it April 3.
I continue to be amazed at it's speed and it's functionality for it's intended purpose. It will only get better with future multitasking and more Apps.
It is apparent that many only visit this site to trash Apple products or stir up emotions by asking leading questions.
Anyone seriously considering an iPad can visit a store and check it out. Either it works for you or it doesn't. It works great for me!!!!

Why would one take the trouble to organize files put them in a folder, sync said folder to iPad then feel the need to delete a photo. Sometimes people don't think use cases through. Again consumption device and fast. Pics are brought over as indexed db and FAST I don't want to loose that so someone in theory can delete an image from a collection that should have been managed already.

I would find it handy to be able to delete photos within ipad too.
1) the ipad is much faster than my quadcore-intel machine in showing thumbnails, scanning through and zooming in them.
2) the ipad's IPS-screen is so much better than my 24" tft-monitor for me to decide wether a photo is keep-worthy.

I went into this knowing full well that it was a large iPod touch that did a little more. I did not have hopes and dreams of it having any sort of file system. I did not think that I'd craft an e-mail then decide I wanted to attach a pic in my gallery only to find out that's not how things work around here. I knew full well that it did not multi-task and it would not multi-task for a good 6 months (give or take). If you go into this knowing what you're buying and expecting nothing more of it then you should not be fed up with it. If you went into this saying it will replace any one computer completely then you're likely fed up with it or will be one day.

I love my $600 couch accessory.

The OP just wants to hear about criticisms of it before he takes the plunge. Why is that so annoying? It's a legitimate concern before buying any electronics. Accusing the OP of trolling, as it seems you're implying, is incredibly childish. The only person in this post that seems stirred up is you.

Anyway, I love my iPad. It has become incredibly useful for school. My criticisms definitely are the lack of flash and multitasking. The latter will be fixed soon, but the former will not. I see Apple's reasoning, but many sites I end up at have flash videos I'd like to watch. It's definitely not a deal breaker, though. A complaint about accessories is that I can't seem to find a decent enough stylus, but that has nothing to do with Apple.

I am a UK user of the iPad and this is my fifth day of ownership and I think it has got better as each day goes on.

Take this morning for example, I wake up and have the choice of a MBP or my iPad to do a quick browse of this forum, which one did i choose, yep you guessed it, the iPad.

I normally leave mine downstairs during the day so that if anyone in my family wants to use then they can, and more often than not they choose to use this than the family desktop because it's much quicker and easier.

...I'm curious how many of you have already got fed up with it, getting fed up with it or consider it a waste of money. Clearly, as the novelty factor will be shortly wearing off and consumer reviews should be a lot more objective than a couple of weeks back, I'd be more interested in the views of the early adopters for this reason

1) Personally, I still enjoy it like Day One. However, I never put it on the "it's going to replace my laptop" pedestal, so I didn't have that disappointment to deal with.

2) It is a "work in progress," and 100% dependent on quality apps. Those are slowing coming. Slowly. I suspect by the end of the summer or at least Holiday season will start to get bombarded.

3) If there is an area of the iPad that has disappointed me sorely it's book reading. Apple needs to dial down the background from the crisp white to something more grayish like the WSJ app. As-Is I cannot read books on the iPad at any brightness. Up high the glow kills my eyes. Down low there isn't enough contrast.

Rather than fed up, I'd say I'm feeling very well fed by the iPad. That is, I'm feeling very saturated with content, whether it be music, movies, shows, news, games, or any information. I actually don't think I could be happier. Maybe if a file structure system was included with some multitasking for certain programs like AIM and some others to allow for background processes. Other than that, I'm feeling rather fed with this device.

This is pretty much where I am, although it also comes with me to work. You know, just in case.

Right. It would come with me to work as well when I return to corporate. For me it is nice because I have to carry my work-issued machine when I fly for work. The iPad is great because I do personal stuff on that and not bother clearing my tracks if I end up having to use my work machine. I don't like to commingle work and personal on a work machine. The iPad is a great travel companion as well.

I certainly like it more each day. I was attached to my iPod Touch the last year and it's still a great podcast and music machine., but my iPad has taken over everything else. :)

BTW, I have an iMac and I'm easily spending 80% of my general usage on the iPad.

Last night

Last night while lazing on the couch I read and answered several emails, read a 30 page student paper (emailed to me in word---read using Goodreader), sent a detailed email back to the student about his paper, and then created a "Simpsons minor characters" trivia sheet for my local pub trivia night (had to find 20+ pics on the web and put them together in Keynote). This was probably 4-5 hours of work total, all on the pad.

It wasn't all smooth sailing. The typing is still somewhat poor, though I am getting more and more used to it all the time. And after switching back to my netbook for a night i realized that i am just a krap typist, so thats a big part of the problem. When I sent the Keynote file to myself as a PDF, it turned out a little funky---a lot of the pictures had kind of fuzzy edges around them. And then the mail program didn't forward the attachment properly, so I finally went to the desktop just to make sure that it came ok and resent the message.

Overall, a very good experience and pretty comparable in terms of productivity to my netbook, but a much more fun and nice experience for many things, esp browsing the net. And that's not even mentioning the many nights when, instead of getting work done, I plopped on the couch and read comics from the Marvel app or played Kitchen Mama with my daughter. This thing is just a lot of fun. :D

PS: I would attach the trivia sheet for those interested, but can't seem to do it on the pad!

The iPad doesn't exactly what I bought it for - surfing and email on the couch or bed. Works like a charm!

Thankfully, most contributors actually read a tread properly before commenting yourself. Your'e spot on and that's exactly the information I was looking for. In the present climate, with a family, I have to justify an expense of 800 euros. Pity there is still the odd clown wanting to read something completely into a treat. I tend to ignore those and read the ones with the info I initially looked for

I'm still enjoying mine very much, but the limitations are getting annoying. I don't buy the reasoning for why photos can be moved/deleted. Yeah, I know it's managed as a DB index to keep it "fast", but I'm quite sure the iPad can handle the computing functions necessary to manage the separate function of editing the DB and re-indexing. This is just laziness on Apple's part IMO. I hate that I need hacky solutions like Goodreader to get content onto this thing. I really wish it had an exposed file system.

I'm getting kind of bored the with apps and I wish the developers would be quicker to port their apps over. I know I know, it's been less than a month, but I guess I'm just impatient. Many of my favorites (like Apple's own iTunes Remote) haven't been ported, and meanwhile running apps at the iPhone's resolution is a garbage experience IMO. Other potentially great iPad apps/content I find too expensive, like magazines and books, or iPhone apps that have been ported to the iPad's resolution (with no other important features) and now sell for 2-3X the price.

Anyway, those are my only real issues with the thing. For computing, it's really only replacing web browsing and light emailing, when compared to my laptop/desktop. I could never use this for "real" work, at least not if I have any kind of urgency.

I think it's extraordinary. Sorry to disappoint. I am constantly amazed by it. I love it. It was worth every dime.

My computer gets significantly less time spent with it each day that passes. I find myself using my iPad to do all of the simple things I used my computer for like paying bills, checking blogs, posting on my review site, updating my site, etc.

With the iPad, I can lounge and read a book where and how I want. Since owning the iPad, roughly about four days, I have found a new interest in reading books that I normally wouldn't. I am very close to finishing "The Lovely Bones." It is an incredible book, and I suggest it to anyone who reads.

Also, typing on the iPad is a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. I find myself typing paragraphs, even pages, with much ease.

So, I have not grown tired of the iPad, and I don't think I will until the new version comes out.

Are you guys still finding time for your desktops despite the presence of the iPad?

I've found myself specifically choosing the iPad for reading anything online longer than a page. When I would normally have been spending time browsing on my desktop system sitting at my desk, I am now sitting in the living room, kitchen or bedroom with the iPad. My normal use consists of things like paying bills online, helping my son type up a school project, email, etc. I've even used Korg's app on a couple of music jobs.

I haven't run into anything I've needed to do that I couldn't. I expect things will only get better. It's only been out a few weeks.

I also haven't turned on my laptop since the iPad arrived. I am at a point where I'd definitely miss the iPad over the course of a normal day if i suddenly couldn't use it.

My only disappointment is that we have to wait for 4.0 before getting multitasking. It should have been released along with the iPad. A device of this size really needs it..

Other than that, I went in very skeptical of the iPad, but have been pleasantly suprised so far.

So youre saying it's just a big iPhone? I thought it was supposed to be much more capable.

I know, now, that the iPhone has the same limitations. I didn't know because I never used my iPhone in these ways...I never synced my photo albums to the iPhone, why would I? With the iPad, it lends itself much kore tomusing it as a photo album and to show people photos, much more than the iPhone.

So you didn't fully research a $500+ purchase? The fact that you have an iPhone means you could have easily tested most of these issues, although some like the camera kit, are unique. And to sum up, of course it is a big iPhone. Now being larger allows it to be more capable, but it is still constrained/hampered by the same, although slightly modified, OS.

I'm still enjoying mine very much, but the limitations are getting annoying. I don't buy the reasoning for why photos can be moved/deleted. They could have easily have done this. Deleting a photo on the iPad would just hide the photo until you synced at which point the photo would be deleted. This would also allow for a trashcan of sorts. I hope this is a last minute feature of OS4 and it wasn't included at launch as it would have been a 3.0 hack.

With the iPad getting a good field testing in US for us Europeans over the last few weeks, I'm curious how many of you have already got fed up with it, getting fed up with it or consider it a waste of money. Yeah, I'm fed up with it. Would be nicer if I had Windows on it.

Where do you people come up with this stuff? Do you get fed up with a phone? Laptop?

If you do, sell it and buy something else. Common sense.

Don't be an ass.

Feel free to read nsorrelle's post #29.

Why do clowns like you bother responding. I asked a logical question

I'm fed up. Didn't task very good either. Had an iPad for breakfast and feel like I ate 6 quarter pounders. :D

Count me in as being fed up with my iPad. I am so fed up this thing causing me to stay up late in bed, browsing reading this forum and Touch Arcade in beautiful, large scale fashion.

I am also fed up with being able to play awesome games like NFS Shift or NOVA on a whim. For that matter, I hate that the device comes on with a push of a button and I can instantly jump in and out of those horrible Apps within a few seconds.

It's also so annoying that I've rediscovered my love of drawing/painting with the larger screen that feels more natural than a mouse does. I thought I ditched that habit, having this device for creativity can't be a good thing.

I hate that this blasted thing has a battery life that barely ever seems to drop. My poor charger that came with it barely get's any action because the darn thing refuses to drain fast enough.

I also am tired of the fact that the thing is so quiet and never get's warm. Why didn't they include a fan that constantly kicked in to helped produce some white noise, the silence is annoying! Since it never get's warm, I find myself being able to hold or prop it up on my lap and not get warm on those cold nights.

As you can see, I despise this device and wish I would never have picked it up. It follows me wherever I go, needing attention like a sad little puppy who needs attention. Apple, you've caused me to neglect my poor PC and laptop and cannot be forgiven...
