We adopted both in September. Initially we only wanted the ginger one, but she was best friends with the black one so we decided to adopt her too.

You're a good person for not breaking up a pair who are close. There are many other people who would've taken the more selfish decision in your shoes!
Thanks! We adopted both from an organisation that rescues cats and kittens. She (the ginger) was too young so we had to wait a few weeks before we could take her home. They sent us pictures and updates on how she was doing and we noticed Mrs. Black was always on these pictures. Two weeks before we could take her home, she was playing again with Mrs. Black (her real name is Missy). We asked the team if she was available for adoption and they said yes. So, we adopted her too and took both home.
