I got:

1: An Xserve (Late 2008), 2x 3.0GHz Xeon, 12GB RAM, and 3x 1TB ADMs
2: An Xserve RAID with all Fibre Channel hardware and 14x 500GB ADMs
3: An XRackPro2 (4U)
4: A Drobo 2nd Generation (got this a little bit earlier from a friend...)

I found all of the random server hardware at a computer recycling center. They did not want it, I was pleasantly surprised! They gave it to me for nothing! Just goes to show, you can find some pretty awesome stuff if you just look.

Sorry if the picture shows up upside-down, I don't know why that happens! :p

Very jealous of that XRackPro... I've got a very similar setup in my basement closet that sounds like a jet engine... Congrats!

2x Radeon R5 240s that came from work. Shipped inside one of our new Dell Optiplex clients, but for some reason they won't let me upgrade our monitors, so no need for these...

I'm starting my first IT course this Wednesday and a guy from work was getting rid of some computers and asked if I wanted them. I said yes and got:

- HP Windows Desktop (Runs on a P4 chip, hard-drive is dead)
- 15" LCD Display
- Power Mac G5! (Super excited for this one, going to see what parts I can get for upgrades and what OS it will run.)

Thanks for that, going to see which model I have. Pretty sure it was a base 1.6GHz model.

While they are the slowest of the G5s, they can still perform reasonably well under lighter loads. I have a dual 1.8 but unfortunately am only running on one CPU until I install the replacements.
