Figured it out. Good food, my family around me, and everyone having a good time. Anything else I receive in terms of gifts is just extra gravy on top. Sounds cheesy and the above pretty much sounds like a regular family get together but it's true.

I more or less like to see peoples reaction to what I get them so I never ask for much. I did when I was younger but I've grown out of that. I'm sure I will end up with plenty of sweaters and such which means Goodwill will end up with plenty of sweaters and such

I'm not asking for anything but I maintain a healthy shopping list and when I have extra coin I try to buy something off of them. I'm old so my lists aren't exciting.

Kind of in the order of how I really want them.

A cutting board that curves over the counter because I'm convinced I'll be slicing my fingers soon enough as my current board moves about.

Steam mop (not sold on model yet)

Awesome measuring cups

Measuring spoons

Food scale (OXO brand)

Then there are things I would love to do to my house that require hundreds upon thousands of dollars in gift cards to Lowe's and or Home Depot. Most importantly, I need a fence in my backyard and I'd like to get the funds to put that in before end of December. A simple post and rail is something I should be able to manage myself.


The play list is a micro 4:3 camera with lenses, a new receiver (really need this because the other broke and the speakers are going to waste, a trip to Chicago and maybe some place real nice and maybe warm, and an XBOX 360. But I'm old so the list above probably happens first.

Maybe you know this already, but you can cut off a piece of one of those shelf-liners and put it under your cutting board to prevent it from sliding around.
