I believe you have an Early 2011 MBP (like I do), not Late... the Late 2011 13" MBP came with, at minimum, a 2.4 GHz i5, and you have a 2.3 GHz i5...

Same, part of me is hoping for something pretty different but the other part of me wants it to stay pretty similar to Mavericks.

It's surprisingly decent. It seems to handle OS X completely fine and on Windows it's not bad either. Source games run great as you'd expect, what really surprised me was that it can VSync Dirt 3 at 1080p 60 FPS on medium. Not bad for a 7 year old card.
That said I'm probably going to replace it in a couple of months for GTX 760, unfortunately the 270[x] seems to have framebuffer issues under OS X and I'd rather have something that "just works".
