Nice to finally see another early 2008 mac user with a comparable amount of ram... What did you go with? 8 sticks of 1GB? I have 4 sticks of 2GB and the 2 sticks of 1GB. I loved the performance jump.

Did 8 x 1 GB.
I made a deal with my dealer that I could get 8 identical memory sticks, and exchange my 2 x 1 GB Apple sticks, and 2 x 1 GB "other" RAM and just pay for the extra 4 x 1 GB. :)
As the user manual says, the Mac Pro wants identical sticks in pairs. So, I extended that thought: I want all memory to be identical.
Haven't done much yet, but I'm sure I will enjoy the extra performance running RAM hungry apps like VMware, Parallels, Quake 4 etc. :D
