2008 13" unibody MacBook. Upgraded to 8GB ram (crucial) about a month ago and it's been great. wish I would have upgraded sooner!

Was there a software update that let it accept 8GB without an issue, or did you have to do something? I am just curious, I don't really need that much memory, just for future reference.
