Who could say no... Loved her in Just Go with It. Hmm...

She only likes money from what I hear. Odd, because she must have enough to keep her happy. See, money CAN buy you love.

You can charter a nice jet for $2,000 per hour.

I've been in one flying half way around the world, for business of course.

And that's where being the PILOT of the company jet is a pretty good deal. Well, depending on the route, weather, maintenance, crew, customs, FBO issues, catering...

Still, flying to Nice, soaking up the rays, and ambiance... Climbing in that gleaming work of art and rocketing into the air. Ahh... But it can be a bitch I'm sure. The guy I referenced earlier, he told a story about the owner getting an idea in mid flight to fly somewhere else. 'NOW DAMMIT!' Not that easy...

Another friend of mine is a commercial pilot. He talks about how you really really have to love to fly, and have a very high tolerance for BS, because that industry is NUTZ! Getting to the 'Big Toys' takes YEARS, and the hours and pay is less than crap. Then, you get to the Big Toys, and get laid off, and start all over back at the bottom at a new airline. If you're lucky to get in the door. Plus some of those regional pilots didn't have over 1,000 hours in type before they were captains... Read the NTSB report on the Colgen Air crash to see how upside down that part of the business is, and how crazy the FAA is.

But anyway... It's IFR here. :(

This is my "beyond your reach" item for now...though it is closer and closer to becoming my "most recent purchase" item. I'm somewhere between 2 and 6 months away, I think, unless my funds get diverted elsewhere.

Most smaller airports will wave the landing fee if you purchase fuel. It can cost over $1,000 per hour for a jet according to a friend of mine.

I've been drooling over one of these, ever since I saw one at the local FBO. It was a demo plane waiting for the person that wanted to fly it. I was standing with a bunch of propeller heads from ground school, and we were all pretty much tongues on the ground over this cute baby... It's nearly jet speed, and more economical than a pocket jet.

I prefer its grandpappy, the Starship:

I have a few friends who are pilots - one got to fly a G5 halfway around the world, for the sole purpose of flying in formation with an airliner to get video for a TV commercial.

Cool commercial. I hate to fly, but love flying. If that makes any sense...

The Starship was an amazing looking plane. To bad they basically trashed them. They broke a lot of ground with the design.

Sad what happened to them. A few are still out there...

I thought the thread needed something other than car pics. ;)

When I think about it there are many things I'd like that are 'Beyond my Reach'

Right now I'd settle for rMBP, 15inch and all maxed out.
