Will also need some McIntosh mono blocks to power them.

I heard a pair of these hooked up to a Mcintosh amp in a local audio store. These sound very nice, I do mean very nice. The low end is supposed to go to 20hz with a proper amp. Depending on what you are going to use them for after you actually buy a pair, you will not have to use a dedicated sub woofer. These things will not disappoint. Good luck. I have the B&W CM10's with the matching center channel and two older B&W surround hanging on the wall. I love the sound of B&W.

A totally cool vintage guitar

Nancy Wilson's (Heart) Gibson Melody Maker guitar. Totally cool from one of my heroes.

i'm not saying you're greedy

whoever wants $200,000 for an ipod is

$200K for an iPod...insane

My lust after guitar is only $2,500 but on a model that would normally bring in $800-$1,250 (maybe) if it wasn't rock star owned.

My only justification is that in twenty years a '64 Melody Maker may be worth three or four grand so I just bought a little "high" but it all works out. I think after the said rockstar is gone, it won't retain any extra value because only a small select list of stars can have their previously owned property bring in a premium long after their death, like Elvis' motorcycle, Frank Sinatra's hat, or Michael's glove.

I would love a Leica. Like you, I don't know if I'd be able to drop down the gold for one of the latest models, but after I do a digital camcorder upgrade, I plan to make the jump to a Leica M6 and give my brother my Pentax K1000.

Some want a Rolex. I want an Audemars Piguet

That AP Jumbo isn't terribly out of reach. Definitely a significant purchase for the average person, but doable.

Now the Extra-Thin RO Tourbillon on the other hand, that's more out of reach:

What price have you seen for the AP Jumbo I found 17000$ still pretty high for a watch

Police auctions are where I find them, also shopgoodwill from time to time. I've picked up sealed iPods from them before. Just grabbed a sealed 20GB HP, sealed original iPhone and a sealed original touch.

Also liquidations are good sources, I've picked up sealed betamax players in the past from hifi places that went bust

PS: I'm not that eBay guy, I just collect stuff like that so I'm don't typically sell my stuff
