Hey guys here is mine:

Last Result:
Download Speed: 1140 kbps (142.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 648 kbps (81 KB/sec transfer rate)

I was wondering if someone could tell me if these rates should be normal. I question them because, I am paying for a service that says I should get 5.0 Mbps, and upload around 800Kbps. Now my download based on these two tests, and I have tested them multiple times say I only get 1.1 Mbps download and around 650Kbps! Upload is fine in my case (cause I don't upload a lot) but download is pissing me off! I think I should call my ISP and ask what is happening! What do you guys think?

And wow some of you are getting impressive speeds, I wish I could download at 33,000KB/s!!!

you pay for 5mb service but no one ever acheives those rated and advertised speeds. all depends on network traffic and other things like runnin behind a firewall and what not. check various servers when you do the test. i check both LA and DC.

You have a gigabit ethernet network at GT?... I mean you must to get those speeds. That's incredible! I thought the 32Mb connection I had in the dorms when I was at school was fast.

But then why is it that some people actually come much closer to it, almost like 4.1 or 4.3 Mbps! I know that it is realistically impossible to reach 5.0Mbps but it still sort of ticks me off, especially since my ISP never seems to have any customer service at a non-busy time! As in I call them at any time, and it is always busy and when it is busy tells me to call back later and hangs up! I fell like something fishy is happening! I don't know though, I will still call them up to check it out!

I have Comcast Cable (via a wireless router)- I believe it is 10-12Mbps, not quite sure though. :)

Here is a screenshot for the connection speed for my 2.2GHz MacBook Pro. :)

Oh wow, i have a similar MBP but mine has 2GB of RAM, and 120GB HDD!

Tokyo Server (good for downloads)

Yokohama Server (good for uploads)

This is my Home connection..
Tests done with two servers, one shows a high download rate, other shows the upload rate.
Unfortunately i can't test the line to it's full capacity due to test server restrictions. It's supposed to be about 300Mbit/sec, though not the fastest line in Japan. Fastest line in Japan does 120MB/s (via Fibre) or 125,829,120 Bytes per sec.

This is what i get at home now and. It's suppose to be 8MB Theoretical, not too shabby considering the fact that this is over Wi-Fi on a computer at the other end of the house.

I wonder what speed Steve Jobs gets when using computers during Keynote speeches.
